Babies on the Brain

I literally have a screw loose!! (PIP)

The good news is, I spoke to my ortho surgeon's office today and should have a surgery date within the next 10 days.

The bad news is, I have a very ugly protrusion in the meantime!

  • That just looks like it hurts!  How did it get loose?   Does that happen with time?

It's not incredibly painful, just certain activities are uncomfortable like running upstairs too quickly or stepping down off of a curb without holding on to something or someone.

I have 6 screws total and was told that you don't naturally have a lot of fat in your ankle, and when you rapidly lose what fat you do have, this can happen. Apparently, internal rubbing has was fine as long as there was fat to cushion it.

  • Yikes! Is it normal for them to come loose?
