I just miscarried on Friday. I was going to submit this question on the pregnancy loss forum, but I saw a thread that said success stories were not welcome on that site. I'm not pregnant again, but wanted to know, were any of your pregnancies within a few months of your miscarriage? How long did you wait to try again? How long did your doctor recommend waiting?

Re: Just miscarried, and looking for some answers...
My doctor recommended 1 month the first time and 3 months the second time.

You're posting on the right board, Pregnant After Loss.
I'm very sorry for your loss (((HUGS))). I think everyone is different when trying to conceive after loss. When I miscarried I was almost 12 weeks and I had to have a D&C. My doctor told me to wait 3 cycles before trying again. I decided to wait a little longer because I didn't feel ready. After one year of TTC I was pregnant again.
October 2011 - DS (7)
July 2014 - Stillborn DD (24 weeks)
August 2015 - DD (3)
April 2018 - 5 week loss
I am very sorry for your loss. The OB advice was to wait one cycle after first AF. I ended up having a D&C after a long m/c that did not complete naturally. AF came three weeks later and I conceived DD1 that cycle.
What is most important is that you are mentally ready imo. That was the hardest for me.
Good luck to you.....try to take it one day at a time.
My doctors always allowed us to try again right away. It took me 9 months and three chemical pregnancies for me to get (seemingly) successfully pregnant again.
Good luck to you and I am so sorry for your loss.
BFP 5/9/10. U/S - no heartbeat 6/2/10 (7 weeks). Induced miscarriage 6/7/10.
Chemical pregnancies 12/2/10, 1/3/11, and 2/7/11.
dx: RPL due to poor quality uterine lining; begin progesterone January 2011
BFP 3/10/11. EDD 11/19/11. E arrived 11/15/11!

I'm very sorry for your loss, and I remember asking the exact same question when I miscarried a few years ago. ?
I had a natural miscarriage, and my doctor recommended waiting through one full cycle before trying again. ?We followed that advice, and it took us about 7 cycles (9 months) to get pregnant again. ?It had taken us 6 months to get pregnant the first time. ?The second pregnancy was successful, and I delivered DS on his due date. ?Now I'm pregnant again, due at the end of May. ?It took us 5 months of trying (though not that hard/diligently) to get PG this time around. ?I'm guessing you'll find answers all over the place re: how long doctors advise to wait and how long it took to get PG again. ??
You are in my prayers.?
First of all, I am so sorry for your loss! Hang in there! It will happen for you!
I had 2 miscarriages before my son was born. The first was a natural miscarriage in October of 2008 at 6 weeks. Our doctor told us to wait until after I had had 2 periods to try again. We got pg again in January of 2009, but a blighted ovum was discovered at 8 weeks, so I had a D&C to remove the products of conception for testing. It turned out that I have a thyroid condition, so I was put on medication immediately. The doctor told us to wait another 2 cycles to TTC again, but I got pg after just one cycle (I had had one period after the D&C). That pregnancy turned out to be our happy, healthy DS who is now 14 months old.
I am now almost 10 weeks along. This baby was conceived a few weeks after DS's first birthday and so far so good. I am still taking the thyroid medication, although the dosage has been adjusted several times. We have seen a healthy heartbeat on the 8 week ultrasound and we are keeping our fingers crossed that we will hear it on the doppler in a few weeks. Hang in there!
I had my D&C in October, and it took us 2 cylces to get pregnant again (we weren't really trying though the 1st cycle.) BFP in January.
I am so sorry for your loss. We were asked to wait three cycles after our d&cs's, and one cycle post natural losses. For us, conception has not been the challenge, and we were pregnant first cycle trying all six times.
I hope your doctor is doing all they can as you move forward; my suggestion, always, is to follow their advice. I know it's difficult, when you just want to be pregnant again, but I think it's important to let your heart and your body heal a little bit.
Good luck to you.
I had a miscarriage on February 26 that was considered early, 5.5 weeks, so my doctor told me to try whenever we were ready. DH was ready right away, but I wasn't really emotionally ready. I chart, so I knew I ovulated this cycle and DH and I only had sex 5 days before, so I was not expecting a positive test this month since it took us 9 months of perfect timing and ED sex to get the first positive.
I am really sorry for your loss. No one can really tell you when to try again, you have to be sure you are ready. Your doctor can give you some advice on this. And just so you know, getting pregnant again will not really take away the pain of your loss- at least it didn't for me. I hope you have good luck when you do decide to start trying and stay strong!
My doctor told me to wait until I'd had a period, and I got pregnant during that cycle.
Sorry for your loss and best of luck.
This. After my first loss, we could try again naturally after 3 weeks, but no IF treatments until after 3 months. With my second loss, we were cleared to start another IF treatment right away.

I'm so sorry for your loss.
My doctor told me to wait one cycle before TTC, and I got pg on the first cycle we were back to TTC. So far, so good, although there is a lot of worry with this pregnancy. I am trying to stay positive.
I'm so sorry for your loss. We miscarried the first time in May, waited a month and then tried for 5 months before we got pregnant again in December. We lost that pregnancy as well as (almost the same day as the first one) and were planning on waiting 3-6 months before trying again (I was a wreck), but too much holiday fun and not enough experience with natural contraception ended up with me getting pregnant again right away. Luckily my doctor had run some tests to try to figure why we kept losing pregnancies at 6w3d and got the tests back in time to begin treatment at 5w5d. The treatment worked and I'm 14w3d pregnant today.
Both times the doctor recommended waiting 1 cycle before trying again. I know it sucks to wait, but letting the memory of the m/c fade a little helps. With #2, I wasn't even worried about m/c, with this one, I'm terrified every time we go to the doctor. Can't wait for this baby to start moving!
If you're up to it, Miscarriage, Medicine, and Miracles is a wonderful book that covers the main causes and gave me a lot of hope. It also gave me the information I needed to ask my doctor the right questions.
I'm so sorry for your loss. We m/c'd in late December with #1 and got pg after one cycle (which didn't happen until Feb). And so far so good. My OB had told us waiting only one cycle was perfectly fine. Just do what is right for you. Sometimes it takes more time to emotionally heal enough rather than physically. GL deary!
My story is similar to what you are looking for.
Miscarriage in November. Drs orders to skip a cycle. Got pregnant with this baby our second cycle TTCAL (Feb BFP). This baby is due exactly 3 months after the first would have been.
