TTC After a Loss

Updated: Impending m/c and a little fever

Should I be worried?  I normally post on 6+, but our board is a little slow right now and I'm looking for some advice.  My betas are dropping, as of Wed they were down to 49.  No bleeding yet.  I have a little bit of a fever tonight, I'm up about 2 degrees from my normal.  Should I be worried?  I don't feel ill in any way, except a bit warm.  I work in a school and there is a ton of crude going around, so it could be a lot of things, it's just making me nervous, you know what I mean?

Update:  The fever went down a little bit right before bed, so I didn't end up calling in.  I have tried calling in before and have never gotten a response so I wasn't to hopeful this time.  This morning I don't have a fever, but there is a lot of cramping and spotting.  I will call in and let them know, just to make sure.  Thanks ladies.

  • I'm so sorry for your loss.

FWIW my ER doc told me to come in for anything over 99.5 because of the risk of infection.  He actually had me monitoring my temp 1xhour!  Take it very seriously, call the nurses line and see what they recommend.

    Hugs

  • I'd call the on call just in case. I don't remember the specifics, but I remember the MD who did my D&E wanted me to let them know if I got a fever. It couldn't hurt, just for a piece of mind even. I'm sorry you came back to us. We really wanted to you to stay over on PGAL.

  • It's 99.3.  Normal for me is 96.8 - 97.5 or so, I tend to run a little low.

  • I am so sorry that you are going through this.

I would definitely call. Hopefully it is not an issue, but it is definitely best to let them know what is going on.

    Big hugs.

  • I'm so sorry you are having to go through this right now.

I am the type of person who usualy waits things out and sees how it goes, but there is no harm in calling the nurses line to let them know and see what they think.

    Good luck!

  • I agree with calling the nurse line. It won't hurt anything and it's better to address it in case it is something.

  • If you temp strats to creep upward of 99, I would call.  If not for anything but your own peace of mind.  GL, FX that you feel better soon.

  • I am very sorry for your loss.  I would suggest calling your Dr. and letting them know that you have a temperature. They say that a fever can be a sign of an infection.  Good luck.

  • What all these ladies said. Definetly call. I ended up running a fever with my m/c. It was low 99-100. I had been taking the medication to pass things. And it wasnt working well enough. I dont mean to scare you. But I ended up in the hospital with a D&C and IV antibiotics. Have you had the chills at all? I was just very achy and at one point had the chills that I couldnt control. Good luck to you. Keep us posted!
