My DS has a consult with a physical therapist tomorrow for Torticollis. The lady said it would take about 2 hours. Anyone mind sharing their experiences of their initial consult appointment? I'm just wondering what to expect for tomorrow. Thanks!

Re: Torticollis- pt consult
The P/T came to our house and stayed for about an hour. She then came once a week starting when LO was 2 months and she stopped coming as of last week b/c her neck and head had gotten soooo much better. I do have "exercises" that I have to continue to do at home.
If your LO has a flat spot I would highly recommend getting a boppy noggin nest - I used ours when LO was in the swing/car seat/stroller and I really believe that it helped a lot.
Good Luck!
2 years of TTC, Seeing RE Feb 09, 2 medicated TI cycles - BFNs, 3 medicated IUIs - BFNs, back to medicated TI cycles until IVF approval, IVF approved in March 2010. BFP on last medicated TI cycle.
I don't remember ours being that long, but it could have been. Really, she looked at DD, tried a few different things with her to look at how she tilted her head, how she responded when we'd try to turn her head, etc.
Then she showed us different exercises to do with her. We were to do them over the next 2 weeks and then come back.
It was hard for our PT to do a lot with her because DD had stranger danger at the time so we had to hold her instead. I loved our PT.
Good luck!
Don't worry - our DD was 4 months at initial appt. We only had to go back 1 more time as she'd improved that month. We got her head shape evaluated at about 5.5 mos, was in a helmet a week later and we're seeing significant improvements in only a month in the helmet.
I was really worried we'd caught it "too late" but this is still good timing.
Our PT said that most babies make it in at 4 mo, 2 at the earliest. We were exceptionally early because Annabel's torticollis was from in utero. It's pretty pronounced but just doing the stretches has helped a lot.
Babies' heads are supposed to be pliable for quite some time. I think the PT said at least until 9 mo. So, even if your LO needed the helmet, it would still have plenty of time to have an effect.
