Today, my kids will walk into the room to find a thick packet on their desks with a cover sheet that says POP EXAM: 200 Points This test is timed. Do not begin until your teacher announces the exam has started.

Page 1 says "April Fools!"

I crack myself up.

ETA: The first class totally fell for it!! They were checking the homework board and asking each other if I had announced a test. Afterwards, one of my boys said, "Miss. I was going to say 'I better not have to go to summer school my senior year!'" LOL

Just please make me feel better and tell me you aren't going to waste all the paper.

Paradise Nope. Already thought of that! I'm the greenest teacher in the school (in fact 2 of my classes are 100% paperless!!). It's all the paper the other teachers threw away in the faculty room. I double copied and on the back of the cover page is their worksheet for the day. I'll reuse the packet and it'll get smaller and smaller all day. Wink

Good prank. This is the difference between high school and middle school. In my building, we do our best all day to forget it's April Fool's, because our kids go INSANE!

Sounds like my students....and they say that even when I've told them two weeks in advance about a test and its been on the board every freaking day.

We must teach the same students. My students get a quiz/ test every Friday as mandated by district. One of my students got their Friday test and said, "I'm not taking this because I don't know nothing on it. How you gonna give me a test on shyt I don't know?" Mind you, they talked and slept in class the ENTIRE week. I like when I tell them and put it on the board and I say, "It's been on the board all week" and they say, "I ain't look at that". Really?
