I did not like it. I thought it took away from what was going on in the episode and was distracting. It was weird. If I want to watch Glee, I'll watch Glee. Until then, Grey's needs to stick to their own stuff.
ETA: I do agree Calli has a nice voice, but musicals really aren't my thing.
I thought it was awful! It was hard to watch seriously with all the singing. I felt like I was watching an episode of Glee and in my opinion, that is not a good thing.
Agreed, Callie has an incredible voice. Her songs definitely brought tears and goosebumps. But, about halfway through I was done with the singing. And I like musicals in general! Dr. Hunt's contributions did not help matters!
I think there def could have been less singing but I'll probably still download a couple of the songs off itunes.
Honestly, I wouldn't have minded if just Callie sang. She gave me chills! The rest I were so-so. Hunt was laughable.
I think if Callie was the only one that sang it would have been much more emotional. Every time I would start to tear up/ cry someone that should not be singing would bust out in song and it ruined it for me. It could have been a very, very moving episode but the songs took away from that IMO.
Clearly it wasn't written by Joss Whedon. He knows how to do a musical episode.
Yeah, watching the GA music episode was like going to the dentist for a root canal!
lol!!
What did everyone think of Dr. Altman telling Christina she wouldn't teach her anymore? I felt like she felt threatened and undermined because Christina will obviously be a better heart surgeon than her someday. What she did was risky, but it saved Callie's life. I just didn't understand her stubborness to move and let someone else try to save Callie when she was coding unless it was because she felt undermined?
I was very upset about this. It seemed much more like a teacher being mad that a student has surpassed him/her. I didn't like. It made Altman look really immature. I think this is what Christina needs to be at the top of the race. I was all for Karev getting it before, but Christina really preformed last night.

Totally agree! But I think this was just the straw that broke te camel's back with these two. There's always been jealousy/ tension due to the whole Hunt thing.
The show was much better than I thought it was going to be. I think that Callie should have been the only one to sing. And her last song was amazing!! The rest of the cast did not need to join in song that is for sure. Wait.....Bailey wasn't bad and she sang in a previous episode as well. Overall it wasnt bad but they really dont need to do it again.
And I agree that Altman is way jealous of Christina and she is just being a big baby!

I agree it would have been better with only Callie signing, but I loved Dr. Hunt's voice. It looked odd that he was singing and thus I did not like it as a whole.
I thought it was awful. I could barely stand watching the whole thing. Had I not been so interested in the story line and finding out what happens to Callie I would have turned the shiit off. I hated the whole thing, even Callie's parts. She looked awkward to me. I thought she was trying too hard and over-dramatizing her performances.
I didn't know whether to laugh or cry because it was SO bad.

It was just awkward.
Really uncomfortable to watch, even if Ramirez is talented.
