So, I failed both my 1 hr and 3 hr, apparently not by a lot. The dietician on Monday started me on testing my sugar and eating specific foods, etc. But, here's the thing, we've only ever so slightly changed what I eat, and now my numbers are super low. Like, 60-80 all the time. I'm wondering if I even have it at all. The bummer part is that I had nausea all the time until about 1 mo. ago, and now that I was feeling good, I have to worry about all of this and cut down on carbs, when carbs are the only thing that keeps the nausea away! Arg! Anyone else experiencing the same thing? Is a false positive even something that exists on the GTT?
Re: GD false positive or wishful thinking?
I don't know about a false postive, but my doctor is calling me "borderline" GD--I failed the 1 hr, passed the 3 hr, but just barely. I haven't talked to her in person yet, but I think what they are going to have me do is follow the diet but just check my levels in the office, not with a home meter. Maybe you could ask your doctor if you could at least not test yourself so much?
Definitely be grateful for those low numbers though--it looks like you def. won't have to go on insulin!!
