How many days of stims before IUI?

My RE said I could start stims for IUI #1 tomorrow if I want (I don't cycle on my own, so I don't have to wait until CD 3).  I am wondering how many days of stims are normal before triggering and IUI?  I have to be out of town Nov. 8-11, so I am thinking I should wait until after that?

    I did 11 days the first time and 8 days the second time. It's hard to say how long it will take your body to respond. Nov 8 isn't that far away, I might wait until you get back.

    Yes, I would wait. Each cycle was different for me, some cycles I triggered after 8 days of stims, some it took a bit longer. But with injectables you will be monitored a lot and my RE does not advice traveling while on stims.
    A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
    After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
    My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

    I did 7 nights of stims before IUI.  I apparently responded very well to the stims and pretty quickly without having any complications.  This was my 1st injectables/IUI cycle.  I think it varies with each person. I think I'd wait to start until after you return.  We had made plans several months ago to go see DH's brother/SIL 10 hours away and we had to cancel at the last minute because I had to have an u/s and b/w that Friday and Monday when we were supposed to be away.  Good luck!!!
