When will or did you ladies start seriously looking at pediatricians?

My old practice started pushing you to look asap, which I thought was a little premature at the time but what do I know? lol

My new practice hasn't even mentioned it yet (I plan to ask at my next appt), and so I am wondering if it's just too soon yet.

Thoughts?

    I started getting recommendations when I was in the 3rd tri and I checked out the office just a couple weeks before I delivered. One of my best friends used them and I got recs for one of the doctors in the practice so it ended up not being that hard of a process for me.

    I did start checking out daycares though when I was probably just over 20w.

    I was going to start after my anatomy scan.  It doesn't hurt to do all the research and do the interviews ahead of time. GL

    With my last pregnancy, I picked my daycare when I was 5 months and pedi when I was 6 months.

    My OB practice asks at the 1st appt if we have one but they don't really push you for the info until 3rd trimester.

    I think I was in the third trimester with DS. The OB gave a list of rec's and then I asked around. I love our practice but have switched pedi w/in the practice due to an issue that was over looked at 6 wks (a big one, DS needed surgery). Point being find out exactly which pedi people recommend w/in the practice if you can, they vary greatly IMO.
