L&D fail...just peed my pants (again)

Every little noise wakes me up at night and despite my ability to never fall sound asleep I managed to fall into a deep sleep and wake up with wet pants. Of course this was quite confusing at 4am so after waking up DH we figured it must mean my water broke. So we go to the hospital and after an hour they tell me I peed my pants and can go home. Just so happens this was the second time I mysteriously peed my pants (once at 28 weeks) and the same non-comforting/a-hole doctor was on duty who likes to make me feel stupid. DD was with us and kept saying the "ewww" the whole time because mommy had an accident...she was nice enough to tell everyone at preschool I peed my pants the next day :) Oh the joys of pregnancy.

    I've done this twice, as well. You always feel so foolish for not realizing what happened, but at the same time, it's better safe than sorry.

    Sucks that the doc was an ahole though. They were really nice to me both times (I mean, I'm sure they were rolling their eyes out of the room, but they didn't make me feel dumb for coming in.)

    Oh my gosh, that's too dang funny!  I have yet to get to that point but I'm sure it's just around the corner.  Smile

    When I was in labor with DD, as they were admitting me a nurse asked if my water had broken and I said something along the lines of, "Yes? Maybe not - I'm in so much pain, I might have just peed." She checked and said, "Yup, looks like you just peed!" She was really sweet about it, and of course, it's hilarious now, but at the time I was a little embarrassed (until that next contraction, when I couldn't have cared less). 

     I agree, of course. Totally better for you to have been safe rather than sorry!

    I found it pretty funny afterwards, not much you can do but laugh. DH has requested I don't wake him up and shove pee in his face to do a sniff check on anymore though.

    my midwife told me that if I thought my water broke to change and put a pad on thn lie down. After 30 minutes get up and move. If the pad is wet then more then likely your water broke.  Sounds like a good idea.

    I was in bed when my water broke and there was no mistaken it. There were gushes and gushes. By the time I got to the toilet to sit down there was water all over my floor. My DH stepped in it.

    I think its hilarious that your daughter told her preschool class. =) I bet you made lots of kids laugh,

    That same thing happened to me yesterday at 4:00 am. I couldn't tell the difference, but the hospital staff was very understanding.

    Oh my! giggles I hope I don't do this! My hubby works night shift so I would be calling him hysterically and then ruin a night of work and embarassment!

    LOL, I don't know I was really young and my Ob said it tasted sweet so I wanted to see if it had a sweet taste to it to see if it was AF. Embarrassed
