NOT FEELING BABY MOVE

I AM ALMOST 24 WEEKS AND I DONT FEEL MY BABY MOVE. IS THAT A MAJOR PROBLEM? I AM ONLY ASKING BECAUSE THIS WILL BE MY 4TH CHILD AND I HAVE FELT ALL MY OTHER KIDS MOVE BY NOW. SOME ONE GIVE ME A CLUE!

Re: NOT FEELING BABY MOVE

  • I would imagine that each pregnancy is different.  One of my friends hardly ever felt her DD move and felt DS all the time.  Some of the tricks I've heard to get some movement include drinking ice water, eating sugary foods, and leaning forward.  I'd give some of these a whirl but not panic if you don't get a response.

  • I have an anterior placenta so I am just starting to feel her move in the last week. My doctor's office has been great with me coming in for a quick listen to her heart to reassure me that things are okay.

  • Anterior placenta here as well...all I feel is hiccups which she has frequently...and only on my bladder...

  • If you're an active person that could be another reason why.  With DD I've noticed that if I've just gone on a hike or have been moving around a lot she's very quiet.  I've heard others say it's because they're so tired they're taking a nap!   DD also wasn't a very active baby inutero.  I used to be worried about that because my cousin would tell stories of how her son was constantly on the go inside.  But now that I look at DD I can see she's a very calm child and how she was inside the womb was probably a bit indicative of how she is now.   If you haven't tried the other tricks the other pp suggested (include drinking oj while lying on your side) then yes call OB for piece of mind.
