I'm starting Lupron tomorrow (omg), and they are doing my calendar for the next month. My RE is OOT for a certain period of time. Which means I either postpone stims for about 2 or 3 days, or there is a possibility that another RE in the practice will do my ET. How big of a deal is this? (EDIT: Oops, I meant ER)
Also, how many days of stims were you on? They say to average about 10 to 12, but judging from how I responded to Gonal on my last IUI cycle, I might be less than that (8 or 9 days).
Re: (paifw/saifw) ivf questions - diff RE doing the ET, length of stims...
Many clinics with multiple doctors will rotate schedules for ERs and ETs. My RE is on the schedule to do ERs on Tuesdays. I think I had him once out of my 3 ERs. It wasn't a big deal to me. They could also just keep you on lupron for a few extra days, as you said.
I think I averaged about 14 days of stims, but I'm a slow responder. Good luck to you!
My RE does all my ER and ET's but that's how my clinic is set up.
At my previous clinic (QE2's) you got whoever was on that day.
I don't think it's a big deal but I love that I always see my RE.
IVF 1 - stimmed 9 night
IVF 1.5 - stimmed 10 nights
IVF 2 - stimmed 11 night

It's been a long journey. TTC since 9/06. multiple IUI's and IVF's and 4 m/c's. IVF#3 = BFP, twins, induced at 34w6d due to baby b passing away (no explanation). Delivered on 35w1d, Baby A - baby girl, and Baby B - baby boy, our little angel.

Good luck, hon! I have always had my RE do ET, but I know there are a lot of clinics that have multiple REs and you get the one that is available that day.
I stimmed for 7 days and had 1 day of coasting for IVF #1 and stimmed for 8 days for IVF #2.

I have always had my RE do both the ER and ET. However in my current cycle I was already knocked out by the time my RE entered the procedure room for ER so I guess it could just as easily have been another doc and I wouldn't have known the difference.

How comfortable are you with Dr. D?
This is part of why I went with Dr. K ... there isn't anyone but him doing it. I don't know what to tell you ... part of me says go for it and part of me says delay it. The tricky part is not knowing how long we will stim. I suspect I'll only stim 8 or 9 days too, but we'll see.

I am not a fan of Dr. D for me personally. I looked, and if I stim for 10 days, DrA would be back in plenty of time to do my ER and ET. If I stim for even 8 days, he'll be back just in time for my ER and ET. I would think I wouldn't stim for less than that. My Gonal cycle, I looked and I stimmed for 8 days. But that was the cycle that I was majorly messing up my dosage, remember? Ergh.
1/11: IUI #2 = 5mg Femara + trigger + IUI = BFN

my blog
I'm on day 10 and expect to go to 12 or 13 days of stims. My clinic doesn't want you to go less than 8 or more than 14 and will adjust dosage to get you into the right time frame if possible.
My RE told me at my CD3 baseline that he was going to be on vacation the first week of April and that my retrieval and transfer both might fall in that zone. If they did, I'll be seen by one of the other REs in the practice. I'm okay with that. I really like my RE (and would prefer him if given a choice) but I picked the practice and not the specific doctor. The only thing I'm concerned about is whether or not the new RE will let me transfer two as I've discussed with my current RE. The clinic policy is to let us pick up to two but that's my one little worry.
