Question for the working moms (not clicky)

Out of the 40 hours (generally speaking) you are expected to work and are paid for, how many do you think you actually put it 100%? As in not bumping, Facebooking, online shopping, checking person email accounts, chatting, etc. etc? Cause Lord knows (as well as a lot of yall) when I was KU and at work I pretty much to paid to do nothing. How bout you, honestly?

Re: Question for the working moms (not clicky)

  • Probably 16-20, but my job description is so varied, since I work for our family business.

Basically, I just need to get certain things done by certain days. So as long as my stuff is getting done, they don't really care.

I have found since having Kate, I am so much more efficient than I ever was before. I am currently more caught up on work than I have been in a long time, which is why I have been bumping pretty much all morning...

I hate my job and I am so resentful of the way they treated me when I came back from maternity leave that I honestly couldn't care less about it.

  • My last job, I would spend 6 out of the 10 hours a day screwing around. I let you know later this week about this job.Stick out tongue

  • Probably about 20.  I have to be working when students are in my room, but other than that I'm on my own.  This made me realize just how much free time I actually have!

  • Hmmm... Maybe 15??? It really just depends. I work nights, so I sleep at work when it is quiet! When I worked days I was truly working about 90% of the time.

  • I usually spend the first hour or so screwing around on FB, TB, etc.  I do work from 11am-1pm, eat lunch, then work from 2pm-5pm. So I do work 5 out of the 8 hours I'm here, usually.  Today is the exception, I'm having major writers' block, so I'm messing around on the bump!

  • I would say 90% of the time, unless we are slow. I work in health care so I can't really get on the computer to play.
  • 90%, and sadly it's WAY more than 40 hours/week.  Crying

The weeks you guys see me an annoyingly large amount are my weeks off.

This, except I have a hard time falling asleep when we are not busy. I am also not actually scheduled for forty hours a week. In a given 14 hour shift, I might work 2-6 on a weeknight or the whole 14+ on a weekend night.
