What is done on day 3 when doing IUI cycle?

is it just an u/s? Is it necessary? I've done 3 cycles a few months ago, and I don't think i ever did a day 3 u/s or tests. I switched doctors ( i had surgery and am staying with this doc) and they wanted me to go in on day 3. However i got my period friday, called to make an appt but the nurse when she called back had a bad connection and i couldn't hear her on my voice mail. When I called today they were like oh you were supposed to come in today for an u/s. I didn't know this. I started my femera on day 3 (sunday). She is supposed to call me back tomorrow with more instructions. Did i mess up? I don't think i did this day 3 stuff though w my other doc. I just did day 12 follie check day, hcg shot that night and iui on day 14.

    I think it all depends on what meds you have as well as the doctor.  I am just on clomid and I did not go in on Day 3.  I go in on cd15 for an u/s.  Good luck with your IUI!

    usually they do your u/s and bloodwork

    I always went in for a pregnancy test, to check E2 levels, FSH, prolactin, and LH levels; and had an ultrasound to check the lining and for cysts.

    I don't do the bloodwork, but I do have the ultrasound reasons for these reasons exactly.

    TTC since 11/09
    Two C/P and Lots of Tests
    Me = LPD + cancer survivor, DH = low count and morphology
    IUIs #1-5, January 2011 - June 2011 = BFN
    IVF #1 in July/August 2011 = BFP!!!!!

    LOL we seem to be on the same scheduled ! I just stated my IUI cycle, had AF over the weekend and went yesterday for a sonogram. Started Clomid yesterday for 5 days and have to go back on monday for bloodwork to check the levels and US to see if there are any follicles. Dont worry, you should be ok.
