Hi Ladies!!
My DS is 13 weeks and has a flat spot that has developed in the back center of his head ...been trying to let him nap or have tummy time for at least 2-3 hours per day ...although that is the best I have been able to do because when I try and prop him up to sit in his exersaucer and at least look at the toys he screams (he really is too small for it still so i think its boring for him) ... so i try to interact w/ him other ways but most have to do w/ him laying down (i have tried propping him on his side but he goes right back to flat on his back...any advice? also, should i be that worried about it just yet? i am just wondering if they round out on their own? Thank you!
Re: flat head help?
We went to a physical therapist a couple of times-outpatient pediatric therapy services dept at the hospital. They gave us exercises. I think it was like you had to remember which side they were on and try to get them to look to the other side. My son really liked sleeping on his right side--even at this 20 week ultrasound. So we were trying to get him to look to his left side by talking to him on the left side.
My son slept mostly on his wedge due to his reflux, so I think that was better for his head.
It actually worked out for his head, and it is more rounded out at this point--my insurance is probably elated. I think they gave us literature at daycare of what they would need to do if it got severe.
I used a sleep repositioner from BRU but I have heard other people liked this pillow.

If you catch it early their heads can definetely round out. Unfortunately for us DS's plagiocephaly started inutero and was made worse by torticollis during his first 2/3 months. Luckily 2 DOC bands from Cranial Tech https://www.cranialtech.com/ fixed him right up. Hope this helps.
