feedback on this baby girl name...

My husband likes Kayla. I like it but I'm not sure I see myself calling our baby that. I was looking up names and I saw Makayla and I like it so much more! Her name would be Makayla Rose. Rose is my grandma's name and what makes it cooler is my husbands name is Matt and Makayla would have the Ma from his name. I haven't told my husband yet but I hope he likes it. I know you could spell it a few different ways...Thoughts on the name?

    Why not name her Makayla and let him call her Kayla? My husband and I agreed to do this when/if we have a baby girl. He likes Katrina, and I will call her Trina.

    Gonna side with your husband on this one. IMO, Kayla is beautiful and Kayla Rose has a pretty flow to it. I know how  you feel about the name issue. My hubby and I just settled on a first name and are in a stalemate over middle names.

    I don't personally like the name Kayla at all, however I think Makayla allows you guys to meet in the middle ;] And I like that name much better.

    Go for it! I like both McKayla & Kayla. I have a niece named Kayla.

    I think MaKayla is really trendy (this is a little older, but my sister is 14 and there are tons of MaKayla's her age). I personally like Kayla better, but if your DH also agrees to MaKayla, then go for it.

    I would personally call her makayla and he could use the nickname kayla and its a win win situation. but that is cute how you said he would have his name kinda put into the name it gives it more meaning and i think he might like the idea too! good luck!

    I've always liked the name MaKayla - Before I ever got pregnant I used to say if I have a girl Im going to name her MaKayla - except I like to change things up a little so I was going to spell it MaKaylah

    I think Makayla Rose is precious.

     

    I have fallen in love with two other names since then though - so no Makaylah's for me! :)
