I'm scheduled for one tomorrow & will (hopefully) find out baby's gender. So excited to see baby again! What other information will I get from the anatomy scan? How long does it generally take?
I think this is a good "google" question for a more in depth detailed response....but a brief overview would be that a tech will take measurements of your baby to determine if everything is right on track, and see if theres any obvious concerns. Hopefully you'll find out the sex if he/she cooperates.
You may want to call your doctors office to see if they want you to have a full bladder or not, some do (mine did) but some it doesn't matter.
HTH!

My a/s took an hour. We looked at the baby's heart, kidneys, spine, all the external and internal stuff. It can confirm gender.
Wow, a whole hour. My previous ultrasounds were only 2-5 mins. LOL Time seemed to stand still back then. A good long view of baby would be special, too :-) Hopefully, he/she won't look like an alien this time around.
mine was about an hour and 15 minutes - it is long because they are looking at all the different parts of your baby to ensure that everything is forming correctly (hence "anatomy" scan) - there are many more important things they are looking for than just doing a gender check.
My actual anatomy ultrasound took at the most half hour and then waited to meet with my Dr. to go over the results which was pretty quick and painless for they found everything healthy and growing as it should. It was nice they give you lots of pics of the baby and they also put them on a CD for us. Good luck tomorrow!

Thanks! Yeah, I hope my baby looks healthy, too. It would be so wonderful to see those little finger & toes...everything in the right place, you know...
I'll have to ask if they can do a recording of it. That would be really special!

if you want a recording you might want to call them today and ask if you need to bring your own cd or dvd just in case.
