Bump / Baby Pic Monday (lets see them both!)
Hello ladies. Here is our first combined Bump/Baby Pic Monday. Just fill out whichever survey applies to you, and post a picture of your bump, or your little one. I think we'll probably just keep up with this until the end of April when all the babies have been born, and then maybe we can start something new like favorite baby pictures of the week with milestone surveys.
I'm in a rush this morning and about to head out for my first internal (I'm excited to see if I've made progress!) so I just have my picture, today.

Weight at birth/now? 6lbs 1.5oz. 5lbs ?oz

Which baby item are you using the most? diapers she poops alot
Which items can you tell were a waste of money? nothing this is my third and I learned
What are your baby's sleeping patterns? she sleeps wonderfully. I have to wake her to so she can nurse. At night she is good for 5-6 hours.
Hardest part of being a new Mom? not getting enough sleep, its hard to sleep when she does.
Best part of being a new Mom? Realizing how much love some one so new can bring to you.
How was your labor? too long and horrible.
Any advice for Moms-to-Be? rest rest rest.

What is in your hospital bag? Items from a trip I took back in January...shame I know for two reasons. 1) Haven't fully unpacked from a trip that was taken 3 months ago, and 2) haven't started packing the hospital bag!

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Not sure, probably close to 60lbs at this point
Is your nursery done? Yes, except hanging pictures (which we plan to do after our newborn photo session)
What is your favorite piece of baby gear that you've purchased? Probably the City Mini stroller, it's just so easy to maneuver. I find myself wheeling it around the house.

How do you feel in general? Huge & sore
What are you getting the most excited about? Seeing LO's face

Any big fears or concerns? Being in labor forever, then needing a c-section. Or the epidural failing.
What is in your hospital bag? Snacks for DH, nursing tank top, camera, slipper socks. going home clothes.
Are you exercising? Hell no.
How many more days until D-Day? 14. I sure hope LO has gotten the message.

Is your nursery done? Yep, just waiting on the painting my Dad is making to hang over the crib - it's our dogs on a sailboat with captain hats. I can't wait to see it
What is your favorite piece of baby gear that you've purchased? My stroller, I can't wait for it to get here!

How do you feel in general? well I feel great but my ankle is still bothering me, carpel tunnel has invaded my left hand so I can barely do anything with it and I can't breath out of my nose!

Are you getting nervous? sometimes i am. All these babies that are being born lately, make it very real. i'm ready to start my new life though. I feel a sense of calm most of the time.

Are you still working/how long will you work? i'll work till i go into labor
How do you feel in general? heavy, out of breath, tired...sleeping is a joke.

Any big fears or concerns? I testing postive for strep b, which threw a wrench in my plans of laboring at home till the last minute. If i don't get two doses of medicine before he's born they take him to NICU..I would just die if they take him away from me.

Are you getting nervous? More anxious than nervous. I'm ready!
Have you dropped yet? Yes.
Lost your plug? Mostly.
Any other signs that baby is on their way? Sporadic contractions, and my doc says my cervix is "nice and soft".
Are you still working/how long will you work? Haven't worked since Septemberr.
How do you feel in general? Pretty good! My pelvis and thighs are sore but that's about it.
What are you getting the most excited about? Holding him for the first time.

Any big fears or concerns? I'm starting to wonder if I'll know when I go into labor. Will he come too early? Will I have to be induced?
What is in your hospital bag? So far, clothes and slippers for DH, and some sweats and slippers for me. I need to get on the rest of it.
Are you exercising? Not so much.
How many more days until D-Day? 31 technically, but if he's not here by April 21st I'll be induced on the 25th - so more like 28

Are you still working/how long will you work? My last day was Friday. I'm on Spring Break (teacher) and then won't return until August

Any big fears or concerns? Not really, just anxious for the unknown

Are you exercising? No, I couldn't until 12 weeks and then never did. I'm so bad

What is your favorite piece of baby gear that you've purchased? Books just for her. We already had nearly everything we needed because of our son.
Which stroller did you buy? Last time bought Snap N Go and MacLaren umbrella stroller. None this time around.
How many inches around is that bump? I have NO idea!
Are you getting nervous? No...just ready!

Are you still working/how long will you work? SAHM so always have to go to work!
How do you feel in general? Eh, I can't complain too much. Just pretty uncomfortable in general.
What are you getting the most excited about? Having a family of four!

Any big fears or concerns? Just worried about how Will is going to react.
What is in your hospital bag? Not a lot. Her coming home outfit, my coming home outfit, toiletries, camera & accessories.
Are you exercising? No.
How many more days until D-Day? 11 days at the most...YAY!!!!
How Far Along: 36wks 1d
Total Weight Gain/Loss: +13
Is your nursery done? More or less. Really just have a bunch on things in there that need to be moved down into our storage room
What is your favorite piece of baby gear that you've purchased? Well, it's not baby gear, but I really love a book DH and I got when we first found our we were pregnant. It's titled "Never Mind Your P's and Q's: Here Comes the Punk Alphabet" It's really colorful and just perfect.
Which stroller did you buy? MIL got us the orange and grey City Mini
How many inches around is that bump? No idea, haven't even thought to measure it.
Are you getting nervous? Absofreakinlutely. Meanwhile, MH is asking everyday when this little man is planning on coming out to play.
Have you dropped yet? Slowly but surely this bump is making it's way down south.
Lost your plug? Nope
Any other signs that baby is on their way? I smell different down there. Not stink, almost thing sweet type of smell. I have no idea if it's even related but since it's a new development I'm assuming it is. Also, I've developed these deep throbbing pains very low down there as well. Almost like cramps, but I wouldn't really consider them contractions, and they're not Braxton Hicks. I'm think it's everything stretching out a little as he makes his way down south.
Are you still working/how long will you work? Yup, and planning on working til 4 days before my due date
How do you feel in general? Fantastic actually, can't complain. I've had ton's of energy and have been in a great mood.
What are you getting the most excited about? Summer time as a family of three. I can't wait to see MH face when he holds our son for the first time. Or seeing LO recognize us and understand that we are his parents. I just feel like this summer is going to be so magical and I can't wait to experience it.

Any big fears or concerns? I'm afraid I won't be good enough. Which is silly, I know. But I have such a fantastic mother, and I'm just afraid that I won't be able to do everything she ever did. She set that bar pretty darn high and I don't want to come up short.
What is in your hospital bag? Nothing, lol. We have a diaper bag that currently holds our toiletries but that's all.
Are you exercising? Nowhere near enough as I should. I want to make sure I'm in tip top shape for labor and so I plan on upping my yoga and pilates workouts from now til then.
How many more days until D-Day? 28 days. Craziness.

How many inches around is that bump? I measured last week, it was 44 inches. For giggles, I also measured my boobs. 42 inches. This makes me a 36G/34H. Whee.

Have you dropped yet? Yes. So much for second babies dropping right before labor.

Any other signs that baby is on their way? Mildly painful BH, lightning crotch, and the baby feeling like she's going to fall out.
Are you still working/how long will you work? Yes, either til 4/25 or until she comes, whichever is sooner.
How do you feel in general? Done.
What are you getting the most excited about? Meeting my daughter and breastfeeding, honestly.

Any big fears or concerns? I'm afraid my placenta hasn't moved up and I'll have to have a c/s, which I really want to avoid. Otherwise I'm a little nervous that I will hemorrhage again, but my MWs are optimistic that I won't.
What is in your hospital bag? Slippers, black sweatpants, a bra-top camisole, a t-shirt, some nursing pads, some socks, a bathrobe, and toiletries. I need to add an outfit for DD, then it's done.
Are you exercising? Not really.
How many more days until D-Day? 30 something til my EDD, hopefully only about 15 til delivery.

Weight at birth/now? 5 lbs 11 oz/about 6.5 lbs

Which baby item are you using the most? Burp cloths, co-sleeper
Which items can you tell were a waste of money? Not sure yet. There is lots we arent using ut still plan to.
What are your baby's sleeping patterns? Varies, but usually wakes to eat every 3 hours or so. Not much awake time at this point.
Hardest part of being a new Mom? The isolation - I can't take her anywhere yet and it's been a bit cold for walks.
Best part of being a new Mom? Just having her and being with her!
How was your labor? Short (6 hours) and pretty easy.
Any advice for Moms-to-Be? Let people help you, especially with meals!

Is your nursery done? Yep, except for the glider that BF's aunt has yet to drop off.

How do you feel in general? Like poop. Literally. I feel like I have to go, but I don't really. And my stomach is just so sore.

What is in your hospital bag? Change of clothes for me (BF will have to work, so he'll go home to change), nursing tanks and bra, a towel (because our hospital has the roughest towels ever), chapstick, cell phone and charger, and ipod. Patrick has a separate bag.

Are you getting nervous? Yep, have been.

Any other signs that baby is on their way? I've had signs that my body is preparing for labor but no signs that LO is on his way in the immediate future.
Are you still working/how long will you work? Yep, working until I go into labor.
How do you feel in general? I haven't had an overly difficult pregnancy but I'm not feeling great these days. Large, achy, crampy, full of heartburn, can't sleep, can't breathe, exhausted in general. Also not a huge fan of the many new stretch marks that have made their appearances over the last 4 weeks. LO is growing straight out front and I wish he'd grow to the sides a bit more.
What are you getting the most excited about? Meeting LO, starting our new lives as a family of three, and not being pg anymore (i.e., being able to eat, sleep, and exercise).
Do you have a blog? Not currently in use.
Any big fears or concerns? I tested + for GBS and I'm hoping that a) LO is fine with the antibiotics, b) my water doesn't break until I'm already in labor, and c) it doesn't screw up my plans too badly for a med-free birth (aside from the pencillin) with as much free movement as possible.

Any big fears or concerns? I just want labor to go as smoothly as possible. I don't mean pain-free....we are planning a natural birth. I just don't want anything to go wrong or take too long that will make the hospital start to pressure us into drugs/c-section, etc.

How do you feel in general? like poo! im always exhausted, cant sleep at all... im always uncomfortable and in some kind of pain. and i am still throwing up at least once if not more a day! i cannot wait to wake up and not feel bad in some way. i can handle the exhaustion from being a new mommy... but i would love to not feel sick!

Any big fears or concerns? My main concern is that the fibroid will keep baby from dropping/engaging and therefore keeping me from being able to deliver vaginally. I do NOT want a c-section, but I suppose what will be will be.
What is in your hospital bag? Clothes and receiving blankets for baby, PJs and a robe for me, socks and slippers, travel size toiletries. The baby book for footprints and handprints. There are other things we still need to add.

How old is your baby? The Babies are 11 days old today
What is his/her name? Jackson Hunter and Reese McKenna
Weight at birth/now? Jackson was 4.9 and is now 4.13, Reese was 4.8 and is now 4.11
Breast/Bottle feeding? Both, they are in the NICU so I am going over there for about 6 hours a day to get a few breast feedings in, and Im trying to pump every 2-3 hours, and 1x in the middle of the night. They get a bottle of my breast milk when Im not there, and if they are too tired to take the breast of bottle they are getting a gavage feeding which is through a tube in their noses that goes to their tummys.
Which baby item are you using the most? I love the My breast friend Twin. It helps with the breast feedings, but the item I am using most is definitely my bustier for pumping. It allows me to pump hands free which is so much better than holding those things straight for 20-30 minutes.
Which items can you tell were a waste of money? So far nothing really. The babies are premies, but we didnt buy premie clothes, we only bought a few NB clothes the other day which will help for a bit. Im really second guessing the bottle warmer and wipe warmer, they were a gift, so we didnt have to pay for them but still I just dont think I will use it.
What are your baby's sleeping patterns? They sleep ALL THE TIME.
Hardest part of being a new Mom? Leaving them at the NICU. Unfortunately I dont entirely feel like a mom yet, because I only "visit" them. I know they are mine and I love them to pieces but I dont really feel the mom thing yet. I cant wait til they are home and we feel like a family.
Best part of being a new Mom? Holding my babies, breastfeeding them together, watching them sleep, catching a smile.
How was your labor? It was hard. I was on an OR metal table because they didnt know if there were going to be complications getting baby B out. It was really hot in there. My epideral only worked on my left side, so I felt everything on my right side. i pushed for 1.5 hrs with Jackson. But I loved every minute of it. I think about that moment all the time. Its the most amazing thing I've ever done.
Any advice for Moms-to-Be? Take some time for yourself. Enjoy the quiet house, get sleep while you can. Open up to your husband and be a good communicator as well as a good listener.
