EBFers whose LO Sttn

Wow, that's a lot of really special Bump abbreviations...

DD STTN last night, which she has done a handful of times before. The first time she did it 2x in a row, I ended up with a milk supply hit. Not sure why, or how that works. But anyways, I am now super paranoid about it happening again. I thought your body was supposed to adjust and then end up giving them more in the daytime?

If your LO sttn, did you have any issues in the supply department? tia!

  • It took a while, weeks, for my body to adjust. I just kept pumping and reducing the amount I pumped to avoid going cold turkey like LO did. We have no problems during the day.

You would pump in the night? I am afraid to do that since I don't actually know if she will STTN and want her to have milk there if she does wake. I'm confused!

If you pump and she wakes up you could give her the expressed milk... But if you let her nurse anyway it will signal your body to produce more.

  • DD started STTN at 4 weeks.  I would get up in the middle and pump for a couple of weeks, but then stopped.  Since then, I feel engorged in the morning, but haven't noticed a supply problem.
I give up trying to get a ticker.  I have a DD that is 2.5 years old and is awesome.  Maybe I'll add a quote to distinguish myself.  Hmmm.  How about...

  • LO sleeps from 8 or 8:30 am to 4 or 4:30 am.  I nurse her around 7:30 or 8 pm, then I pump at 8 or 8:30.  So then I go about 8 hours with nothing.  My breasts have done fine and I have no supply issues.  I nurse her at 4 or 4:30 and then she goes back to sleep till 7 or 8.  DH usually gives a bottle of BM then and I pump and I can get about 15 ounces!  It's insane.
