Hi Ladies,
I'm not sure how to actually bring this question up, so I am just going to throw it out there-- the last 10 months or so, I have been getting really bad cramps the first day of my period. They have NEVER been this bad. I always thought my friends were being dramatic when they complained about their cramps, but now I can feel their pain. I tried doing some research but I could not find much about cramps getting worse as I got older. I'm only 23 so I'm not sure if this is normal....Has anyone else experienced anything like this before? I rarely ever take medicine, but now I find myself taking something for the pain. Do I just need to put my big girl panties on and suck it up? ![]()
Re: Period Cramps...
Pretty much. There can be a number or causes not limited to hormone levels changing, lining being thicker, more active pituitary gland etc to explain why they are getting worse with age. Its not completely abnormal and probably nothing to worry about. Different birth control pills can do different things as well due to hormone levels etc so depending on what you are using etc. you may want to bring it up at your next GYN visit.
Until then: heating pad and Midol (though mine have been bad enough with blood clots that I was given Oxycodine and on one trip to the hospital MORPHINE to deal with the pain.) GL.
