3rd Trimester

Do moles stretch?

I have always had kind of larger mole on my belly.  I'm 33 weeks a long now and my doctor just now said something to me about it. I've never been concerned about it since it's looked the same since I was young.  But now the mole looks like its stretched out.  It has two different colors now and a strange boarder.  I'm planning on getting it checked out, but I would just like to know if anyone else had a mole stretch with there stretching bodies?

Re: Do moles stretch?

  • I know that they can get bigger during pregnancy. But if it's on your belly I can see why it has stretched. I think it is worth getting it checked out.

  • I have a few on my belly they have gotten bigger and stretched. You may have not noticed anything wrong with them but since they have gotten bigger the color and size has changed.I had 2 removed last summer on my tummyHave you noticed any other ones that are different?.
  • Mine haven't really stretched they've just gotten bigger.  In one case massively larger.  Yuck Sad

  • I have a mole on my upper leg that grew larger during this pregnancy! Yikes I don't want it to get any bigger.
  • I have one on my belly too and my doctor hasn't been concerned about it at all. Its definitely stretched since becoming pregnant. I think after I have the baby I will ask if I can have it removed because its just awful now. It just looks so weird.

  • I got one removed a few months ago that I would have never known could be something to worry about.  My dermatologist said we would probably have never noticed its characteristics except that I'm pregnant (it was tiny, like pin-head size), but it was one she didn't like, and I had it removed.... so maybe they stretch?
  • Hi Ladies, I am a nurse at a derm office and I would imagine moles can stretch depending on the location but any moles that are two toned and have jagged borders should definitely be checked out. Those are two big things you should watch for with moles. Asymetry, borders, color, and diameter. Hope that helps.
  • I don't know about stretching but I do know that I have gotten more of them and some of them have gotten bigger. I hate it and I hope they go back to normal or the way they were before! I also got skin tags and after having DS i got skin tags that I didn't have while I was pregnant. BOOOO!!!
