Babies: 0 - 3 Months

when did your LO start to wear 3-6 month clothes?

I feel like my DD is outgrowing most of her 0-3 month clothes, especially her sleepers.  I really notice it in the legs and feet, especially.  When did your LO move from 0-3 month clothes to 3-6 month clothes?  DD is just over 11 weeks right now.

Re: when did your LO start to wear 3-6 month clothes?

  • I was shocked that my LO is actually able to fit in some 3-6 clothes already (9 weeks). Some of his 0-3 still fit fine and some of his 3-6 look like they are the same size. I never realized how different brands sizes are.

  • I think my LO is going to be built like most of the women in my family, bottom heavy. Her 0-3 month onesies and shirts fit but the pants are getting quite snug around her chunky thighs. So I may go up a size in them. Sleepers are a hard one because they are big up top but tight down below. So I'm not sure what to do there.
  • dd is only 5 weeks but soe of her 0-3 are getting to short in the legs and arms but they are too big in the waist since shes still really little (7lbs 4oz) I dont know what we are going to do except keep her in dresses and nightgowns lol.

  • My DD is 6 weeks and I think in a few weeks (by Easter) we'll be moving up to 3-6. She's a CD baby so she has a really fluffy butt, and she's long. Plus she's averaging almost a pound a week in weight gain...

Glad I haven't bought her Easter dress yet!

My DS is tall & skinny. 5 weeks old and 7lbs, 8oz (weight as of last night, actually!)  This boy has LOOOONG legs, so I put him in Carter's 3M pants underneath a long-sleeve onesie with socks over the end of the pants... He looks like he's wearing a leotard, but it's the only way to keep the pants on since they're still huge in the waist!

  • DD is long so her sleepers and onesies are tight in the length but still big on her in the waist area. The only reason her 0-3 month pants fit in the waist is because of her CD fluffy butt, but they are starting to get too short. I'm happy it's starting to get warm because she will then live in dresses, tanks, and t-shirts until she can move up a size.

  • We moved DD to 3-6 sleeps at about 6 weeks as she needed the length and to 3-6 for the rest of her cloths at about 8-9 weeks

  • Some brands of 3-6 fit right away. Both my LOs were outgrowing 0-3 by 6 weeks. DS1 has always been a size ahead. Some of that is CDs, but they're also big. I don't know why they label sizes in months, it's meaningless.

  • Every baby is vastly different. DS came 3 weeks early, and so he was in Newborn clothes until somewhere in his 2nd month. He's now 3 mos, and comfy in his 0-3 mo clothes (although I think he might move up soon)

  • two weeks ago!  she was 9lbs 6oz at birth and went right into 0-3month clothes.  at 4 weeks she was 12lbs 6oz. our big healthy girl! :)
  • DD2 is all over the place when it comes to clothes. She is currently wearing onesies in 0-3 and 3-6. She also had a couple of outfits that are 6-12 months that she fits into!

  • Lurking. My DD was always (and still is) consistently a size up from her age. So when she was 3 months old, she was in 6-9 month clothing. I had her in a 6 month outfit which was a little big at her 12 week pictures. Today she's 4  years old and wearing size 5 clothing. At a year, she was in 18 month clothing. At least she's consistent, huh? ;)

  • My DS is 12lbs3oz and 23 inches long at 6.5 weeks. He still fits in to some of his 0-3 month clothes, but he is wearing more and more 3-6 month stuff. The bigger size fits him length wise but is often pretty baggy as he is not really chubby (which sounds odd for his weight)

  • We officially moved DS up two weeks ago. Before that we were using both. Some stuff fit, some didnt. By 7 weeks we had to move him up to all 3-6 pants and sleepers. Now everything is 3-6 with the exception of some 6-9 month pants.
