Technically, I met my DH when I was 18 and he was 20 at youth camp. He was there with a drama group from the college he attended. I remember him, but didn't pay much attention to him. Two years later, he moved to Everett to be the youth pastor at the church I had just started helping at. We hung out once or twice and after about a month, we started dating. The night before we became an official couple, he looked at me and said, "You're going to marry me someday". We've been together 7 1/2 years and married 5 in May.
Safeway. He was a checker, I was a courtesy clerk. I quit Safeway to go work at Stevens Pass for the ski season & made Chris promise he'd come up skiing & see me. He never did so I showed up at Safeway while he was working once ski season was over & told him he had to make it up to me somehow for not visiting me at the pass. He took me out to lunch at Red Robin & we started hanging out in friendly terms (generally with a group) & eventually started dating.
Nobody thought it would last (Chris is 12 yrs older than me) but we've been married 5.5 yrs & together for 10.
I was over at my two BFF's house (S & M, ::giggle:: but that is really their initials). M went to HS with TJ, and invited him over to their apartment one night while I was there. She told me she thought we'd hit it off. She was completely right, we both felt a connection right away! I had a little too much to drink slept on the pull out couch with him that night. He was quite the gentleman, and didn't try to make any moves on me (on the other hand I was a little harlot and practically threw myself at him to only get a little smoochin).
He came over to their apartment again a few weeks later and pulled me aside to say he was really interested in me and wished I didn't have a boyfriend because he wanted to get to know me better. Swoon. Things were rocky with my ex, he broke up with me via e-mail (he was stationed over seas in the military) for another girl a few months later and as soon as he did M called TJ and we hung out. He got my number and we went on a dinner and a movie date the next weekend. We dated for a month before he asked me to be his official girlfriend and the rest is history.
July 15th is our 4th wedding anniversary, July 19th is the anniversary of our 1st date and August 19th we'll have been together for 7 years! I have to say M knew what she was doing, I honestly love him more and more every day!

We were in a drive though of Dairy Queen (classy) and he said to me "you know it is really hard to hit on girls, because girls always think we are dating since we are always together." So he pulled up to the drive though window and the girl went to take his money. I said "we are not together if you want you can have his number"!
This made me laugh!!

I was driving home from a friend's funeral and got a flat tire. I was trying to change my tire in a pencil skirt and heels, when two nice guys came over wearing their soccer gear (they had finished a game and were at the bar across the street) and offered to help. I knew how to change a tire and was quite adamant that I could change it myself. SO said, "Well it would help if you were turning the jack in the right direction!" I gave in.
At the time I was coaching a girls soccer team and had all of their gear in my trunk so we got to talking about soccer. He asked me if I would be willing to sub on his co-ed team sometime, and I said sure (totally a common thing for me to do). He gave me his business card and I wrote my phone number and email on the back of one of his cards for him, "Jaime with the bad tires". He offered to follow me home to make sure I made it on my spare and we found out that he had recently bought a house less than 10 blocks away from me. I had proven that I couldn't change a tire, but I figured I could at least drive on a spare. So I told him that I would be fine.
I emailed him the next day to thank him for helping me and told him of some cool places to go in our neighborhood. We built a friendship and I subbed on his soccer teams and he would meet up with us at local bars. When I say "us" I mean me and my HUSBAND. Tisk tisk, right? Well, potentially yes, but I didn't think of our friendship as anything more than that. However, my marriage had been on the rocks for years (won't even go into that), so when it inevitably ended my friend (now SO) was there for me and it eventually grew into more.
It is amazing to think that I now have a baby girl and the most wonderful man in my life all on a chance meeting of him changing my tire. As time went on we discovered more connections, such as his aunt was one of my mother's nurses in the ICU when she died, his grandmother lived in the neighborhood I grew up in and he would spend summers there, and his mother and I went to the same high school. I'm not really one to believe in fate, but sometimes our story makes me question that belief.
Oh, and I am still listed as "Jaime tire" in his phone contacts.
We met at a drunken college party. He walked up to me, showed me an empty 1/5th of whiskey and proudly proclaimed "I drank this whole fifth" .. I thought he was a drunken idiot and proceeded to drink and go home with someone else . The next day a mutual friend told me her friend thought I was cute and wanted my #. So we went on a date a week later. We dated off and on for about a year before we made it official. Now we've been together 7 years, married almost 4 and have a wonderful 1 year old!! If you would've told me 7 or 8 years ago he'd be the one I'd marry I would've never believed it!
I was the espresso girl and he was the backroom boy at a grocery store. I ended up working there all through senior year and college, and ended up a front end manager before I left. DH is stil there - but now he is the store manager.
I shop there every Sunday and bring DH lunch, and a lot of employees are the same ones that were there when we first met. It means K has a lot of "aunties"
ETA: Thirteen years together in Feb, married 3.5 years. Yes yes, the first few years I wanted to establish my career and live on my own, but then after that he dragged his feet. When we met at the end of the aisle on our wedding day, the chaplain, a family friend, said "It's about time!"
Hahaha who knew that little store would be so huge! Still love FG!
I dated a friend* of his in high school. We became friends, DH left for boot camp, BF and I broke up, DH and I wrote to each other the whole time he was in boot camp, he came home on leave and we started dating.
* exbf decided to 'break up' with that whole group of friends after we broke up but before DH and I got together, so by a technicality I am not a homie hopper.

Not technically my DH, but I'll respond
