Gender Determination U/S at 15 weeks?

Were you able to find out if you did this? I had to switch my appointment to earlier since we are going on vacation and now it will be at exactly 15 weeks. Is this too early?

Re: Gender Determination U/S at 15 weeks?

  • It could be too early or you could be able to find out the sex. We found out at 16 weeks and got confirmations at subsequent u/s, I wouldn't have trusted just the 16 week one.?

  • It may be questionable, and it's so frustrating when you don't know for sure or they give you a 70%. Maybe go right after vaca? GL!

  • i found out at 15 almost 16 weeks and it was very obvious that a little boy was in there so it really depends on the tech and the baby being in the right position
  • We found out at 15 weeks and it was really clear that she was a she!  Not sure if this will work out for everyone but it did for us - GL!!

  • With my first pregnancy we found out it was a boy at 12 weeks. My SIL is an  ultrasound tech, so she told us. It was pretty amazing.

This time around, unfortunately we are not on talking terms with the SIL so I went to my 15 week appt last week and asked if she would tell me what the baby was. She tried and the umbilical cord was between the legs, but she says she 'thinks' it is a girl. Needless to say we won't be painting just yet. Hospital US is on April 11 which will put me at 18 1/2 wks.

    GL to you!!!

I'd take it with a grain of salt, but there's a good chance you can find out and it could be correct.

  • I conceived with the help of a fertility doc so hes been doing u/s every 2 weeks and was able to tell me it was a boy at 12 weeks with a 3D u/s.  3D u/s was amazing!
  • I went at 15 wks 3 days and it was accurate.
  • I had an ultrasound at 16 weeks and they were able to do the entire anatomy scan then, including definite sex determination (it's a girl). It was clear even to DH and I that it's a girl. The dr said since I am so slim, they were able to see everything. Not sure why the mother's weight has to do with it, but that's what he said.

  • We found out at 15 wks, 3 days.  The tech was 95% sure.  An u/s at 18 wks confirmed that it's a girl.

  • I found out my LO was a boy at 15 weeks. Boys are easier to tell than girls.

  • the private place near me says please be 16 weeks for gender determination. but when i called, the only opening they had was a week earlier when i'll be 15w2 and she said it would be fine.

others are right. i think it depends most on baby's cooperation and how good the tech is. i'm hoping the private place will be better since ALL they do there is gender determination..........
