my son is the youngest out of all my friends babies. for each of their bday gifts, i typically spend between 35-40.
after having his 1st bday i realized most people spent around 15-20 (and i only noticed this because he recieved duplicates and i had to return stuff to bru/target), but i am just wondering if maybe i spend a little too much and should scale back? is 20 about average for a gift?
Re: how much do you spend on bday gifts?
I typically spend between $15 and $25 --- it really depends on what I find and what I like. I guess maybe I'm cheap? I even keep it to that for my nieces.
i shoot for the $15-25 range...and i know that this is nitpicky, but man, after the card, the gift bag and everything else, it ends up being a whole lot more.
Also, it depends on who it's for...i knew that our security guard at our office building was getting ready for his daughter's first birthday...they've been trying for years and after they stopped trying (age 43), the wifey got prego! so I got them something a bit more...
