DD is turning 5 months, and I felt like it was time to start building a freezer stash for starting solids and for weaning. I'm a SAHM so DD rarely gets a bottle, and we just moved across the country and I had to toss out the very little (like 12 oz) stash I had. I had a major oversupply the first few months so I could pump like crazy even after a feeding. Last night after DD went to bed I tried to pump, and 15 minutes later, you could still see the bottom of the bottle. We're talking drops. Have I established a set supply at this point where there is no extra to pump? Am I actually looking at low supply now? Just wondering whether any of you mamas with older babies are still able to get a little extra. Thanks!
Re: Is it too late to start pumping?
Currently going through our second deployment. Can't wait for Zoe to meet her daddy!
Also time of day can matter... you produce more in the am... and depending on your LOs sleep you could pump right before you go to bed...
but like pps said, after a while your body should learn that you need more milk at that time of day...
