Getting to know you: Concerts!

Ok, this board is slow today! I'm pumping and bored so, tell me about yourselves! What was the first and last concert you went to?

I'll start. My first was super awesome. Nelson. That's right. You know you're jealous. My BFF (who is a huge DMB fan now) was convinced that Gunnar (oh yeah, I still know their names! Cool ) was singing right at her - even though we were in the balcony of our town's civic center (ie: we looked like dots to them).

My last was John Mayer in Jacksonville, FL, when I was about 8 weeks pregnant. It was my fourth JM show and I loved it!

My first was a Christian group that I used to lurve. My how times have changed.

My last was Fleet Foxes. It was a-ma-zing. I think Henry was about a year old at the time, so it has been a while. I miss my live music.

First was Smashing Pumpkins and Radiohead, I think I was about 14. Last was NoFX and Bad Religion just before I got pregnant. We don't have many concerts in my small town, we had to fly to Auckland for the last one!

First: James Taylor - outdoor concert when I was 2 months old. My parents took his lyrics of "got your baby, got your blanket, got your bucket of beer" literally

Last: Brace yourself for this awesomeness: Huey Lewis & The News and Chicago (yes, I'm in my 20's) and I LOVED it.

Next one: Just found out Mumford & Sons - my new bandcrush - is playing in Raleigh this summer.

My first was a Christian band I used to really like and my last one was Flyleaf and 10 Years when I was about 6 months pregnant. I was supposed to go to a Shinedown concert when I was about 8 months pregnant but a tornado destroyed the location it was supposed to be at so they cancelled it. :-(

My last was Dave Matthews Band at 8 months pregnant. I was huge and it was 90 degrees and humid. They come here every year and we have always gone, but this time it sucked. Being, hormonal, sweaty, and surrounded by a bunch trashed hippie wannabe's does not equal a good time.

Yeah, I'm the same way! It's a minor addiction, DH has to talk me out of sending cards on a monthly basis. Who says Martin Luther King Day doesn't warrant a photo card?

My first was either Ani DiFranco or Pearl Jam in 1994...I can't remember which was first.

My last was David Gray and Ray Lamontagne. They played in August on our anniversary at an outdoor venue in Boston. It was SO NICE to have a final night out before LO came.

We were supposed to take the kids to see the Dropkick Murphys (outdoors) a few weeks ago, but DS wasn't feeling well

They are great! Most people are like "Brand who?" so it's awesome that you love them too! I saw them in Chicago a couple years ago too, and it was amazing.

I also love Mumford & Sons. I've been hearing them on the radio lately. It makes me pretty happy.

I don't remember who my first concert way. Probably a Christian band. My last was Tom Petty. My H and I have seen him a bunch of times.

My first concert was Van Halen when I was 8. My parents took me. It was pretty sweet!

The last concert I went to was the end of February. It was David Gray at the Detroit Opera House. It was one of the best live shows I've ever been to!

I'm about admit something super embarrassing (but also very exciting). I will be attending the Backstreet Boys/NKOTB concert for my upcoming 32nd birthday in July. WHOOOOOT! Holy crap, I'm going to be 32. That's OK, it will be a bunch of cougs my age getting my WOOOO girl on. WOOOOOO.

First: Sheryl Crow with the Wallflowers (this is where I fell in love with Jakob Dylan)

Last: Genesis...yes that's right. DH is a huge fan, especially of their stuff from the early days with Peter Gabriel. The concert we went to was with Phil Collins leading. I hate to say it, but it was a great concert, especially when you know all the songs because DH plays them all.the.time

My first one I went to was Rascal Flatts, Gary Allen opened for them- I love both of them. The last one I went to was Keith Urban & Zac Brown opened. I am going to see Kenny Chesney in May & I am so pumped!! I've been to other concerts besides country, I've seen Seether, Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin in concert too.

I would love to go to see Dave- I heard his concerts are awesome!

My last? I can't remember. Probably Jimmy Buffet. I think Parrotheads are so much fun.

First - NKOTB. Me and a group of my BFFs went with...wait for it...our mothers. My mother in particular couldn't stop complaining about how vulgar and lewd Jordan Knight was for "humping" on the stage. It was in Jackson, MS, and the band stayed at the hotel across the street from ours. We spent all night staring at the penthouse imagining them up there.

Last - Tool. LOVED it.
