Oh good. I'm starting to build a stash and was reading on the 0-3 month board that a woman had to throw away about 400 oz of frozen BM due to lipase. I looked it up and couldn't figure out how one knows their milk has that problem but freaked out since I've noticed my BM lately has a metally smell. Didn't want to be feeding LO bad milk. Thanks for responding.
Well my milk never lasted more than 3 days in the fridge but I never thought about having a high lipase. Some poeple's milk is just different. I think scalding it before you store it would be easy enough, just don't do it in the microwave. I read drinking and washing your pump parts in distilled water can help. Try Kellymom.com and search their site about it. Feeding from the breast will be a sure fire way to avoid it.
