Has anyone experienced a pregnancy with a breech presentation of the baby, where prior to labor, you made an effort to successfully turn the baby?
My baby is currently breech, and I have read that it is proven that you can put music at your pelvic bone or even lay upside down for 20 min. a day to turn the baby. It sounds ridiculous to me that either of these could work.
Any personal experience on this matter would be appreciated!
Re: Tell me about an "Almost Breech"
Yes, my coworker had a baby just a few months ago that was breech up until the day she went into labor. She desperately wanted the baby to flip and tried a transduction (I think that's what it's called)...didn't work...the next day she went to a chiropractor. She went into labor just hours after the appointment and it turned out the baby had flipped! So yes, it can happen.
My son flipped to breech at 37 weeks. My dr. would not try to flip him manually since I was being monitored for a clot on my placenta. So I was scheduled for a c-section the following week. I decided to try everything I could.
I played music to my crotch, I swayed while on all fours, I layed with my hips elevated up on pillows, I laid inverted using the couch, I did handstands in a swimming pool. What I think did it for me, though, was putting peppermint essential oil on my lower belly. A friend of mine told me about it that it's thought that the baby can smell the peppermint and doesn't like it so he/she wants to get away from it, turning him back to head down.
After 2 days of everything else, I put the oil on my belly before bed and in the morning he was head down!!! I was ecstatic!! It sounds weird and not everyone really believes that that's what happened, but I tell everyone I can because hey, if you're trying to avoid a c-section, you'll do anything you can!!!!
Good luck!!!
