Our baby boy has a cyst on his brain that could be anything from nothing to fatal. I won't know anything till friday and then it can either be the end or beginning of this all. I don't know what to do.
My DD (now a healthy, vibrant 2 year old) had a choroid plexus cyst that was discovered at the 20 week u/s. It resolved itself in a couple of weeks which is what my OB told me is most common. Technology is so advanced now that things like this are being detected more and more whereas back in the "olden" days they weren't but were still present and all was resolved without even being noticed.
T & P's to you, it's hard not to worry but they told me in 99% of cases they do resolves themselves with zero issues at all.
So sorry you have this worry. I'm not on here much but I saw someone on 2nd tri (I think) that was going through this same thing a week or two ago. I hope it resolves itself. From the responses I read in her thread it seemed this was more common than you would think and it typically did resolve itself. So hard not to worry though.
I had my scan last Friday and after we left the doctor called me back and told me that he saw a small cyst on my little girl's brain too. Luckily he wasn't even the slightest bit concerned. He told me that it will go away on its own and was most likely caused because I was getting over strep throat.
I hope yours ends up being nothing to worry about too. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
I'm so sorry. I can't imagine the emotions that you're dealing with, but I'll be praying that it's nothing and your baby boy shows up just fine in August.
Our close friends just found out last month that their baby has two cysts on its brain. They did the MRI and the doctor gave them a number of options as far as what it will mean for their little one. They are 8 weeks away from delivery and I know it's so hard on them, just not knowing. It's great news that the baby is otherwise healthy. The doctor told them that it might not affect the baby at all, just like yours told you. We keep praying for the best for their family. We'll add you to that prayer!
I know it's hard, but try and keep your head up. It was discovered at my anatomy scan that my baby has two choroid plexus cysts. We were referred to a Perinatal Specialist who calmed our fears by telling us that the cysts are a common part of development and typically resolve themselves. We originally opted out of additional testing during the first trimester, but ended up doing the quad screen to further explore our risks of the cpc's being a bigger issue. All signs are pointing to a healthy baby. A fellow bumpie told me to google the cysts and read all the success stories, and that really did help calm my fears. Above all, remember that you are a great mom. Thoughts & prayers are with you and your baby. ((hugs))
