How to unravel a sweater?

I have a sweater that I recently realized has a big hole in it.  I can't fix it so I thought I would take it apart and use the yarn for knitting.  I've never done this before but I'm sure there has to be a good way to go about this to get as much yarn as possible.

Advice or tutorial?

    There are some good websites.  You have to make sure the seams are a certain way first, or it won't work at all.  It also takes forever and generally yields some pretty small gauge yarn (just warning you!).

    I will also warn you, as someone who once accidentally knitted a blanket that was as long as her house and then realized it and undid it all (yeah...fun times), that the yarn may not work very well for your new project.  The yarn I tried to reuse just yielded a really lumpy, kinky looking blanket the second time around.
