I have a sweater that I recently realized has a big hole in it. I can't fix it so I thought I would take it apart and use the yarn for knitting. I've never done this before but I'm sure there has to be a good way to go about this to get as much yarn as possible.
Advice or tutorial?
Re: How to unravel a sweater?
There are some good websites. You have to make sure the seams are a certain way first, or it won't work at all. It also takes forever and generally yields some pretty small gauge yarn (just warning you!).
Just google "recycling sweaters"
The better websites/tutorials will show you how to unkink the yarn...
