I observed my LO (7 months) roll over in his magic sleepsuit last evening via the video monitor. So, he started crying and I went in to flip him over. For those of you who have used the magic sleepsuit, did you continue to use it after something like this happened or did you get rid of it? He's a strong little guy and it seems he's moving around in it, but it still helps with his sleep (hugely helps). Without it, he's up every half hour. I know we need to fade it soon, and we plan to do so, but will it be okay for another few weeks?

It is a puffy thing - kind of like a snowsuit that breathes. It is less restrictive than swaddling but prevents them from easily startling themselves awake with their hands. For our LO, it was a life saver after he grew out of the swaddle. He is able to sleep in a sleep sack, but inevitably wakes himself up after 45 minutes by rubbing his face, knocking his pacifier out, etc. We know we need to move in the right direction and wean him of all of this, but we both work more than full time and we're struggling with the sleep deprivation thing right now. I just haven't had the psychic energy to wean him of this stuff. Ugh.
I actually emailed the company and Maureen emailed me back and said that once they start to regularly roll over it is time to transition them out of the suit. She says that they are then ready for more movement in their sleep and the sleepsuit is no longer needed to provide that secured cuddled feeling. she recommended layering pajamas with a sleepbag for extra warmth which baby is used to.
FWIW we are working on transitioning LO out of the suit. We started taking her out of it at naptime first. She can now sleep just as well for naps as she did in it. I'm just a little nervous to take it away at night. We tried one night and she only slept for about an hour and then wouldn't go back to sleep. So...some night I'm gonna have to get up the nerve and just do it! GL!
