Trying to Get Pregnant

Happy announcement

I know I'm newer on this board, but wanted to share that I'm moving on to 1st Tri and say a big thank you for all I learned here.

I found out in a weird way, and really didn't think I was pregnant.  On March 6th, I had a +OPK; and only 1 week later, on March 14th, I had some light bleeding that lasted for 3-4 days, with 1-2 days of spotting after that.  I assumed it was my period, and though it was light didn't think it was unusual since every period/cycle since going off BC has been a little strange.  I assumed I was moving on to my next cycle and bought myself some POM, and was trying to think positive.  I had ordered another OPK from Amazon and got a happy face on my first stick this morning.  I thought an LH surge would be odd early in my cycle (I thought it was CD8), but was happy to see it anyway so we had sex and I just assumed it would be a very short cycle.  I started to wonder about my weird cycles and made a doctor's appointment for tomorrow; and while explaining and situation the nurse recommended I do a pregnancy test.  I sat in the bathroom at the drugstore and just stared in disbelief.  I took two others I had at home; all positive.  Thankfully I have my first appointment tomorrow to confirm things and discuss the odd bleeding.  Hopefully everything's okay; I know light bleeding early on is not unusual but I'm still nervous about it.  I have had zero symptoms except now jitters and butterflies due to the news.

I have learned so much about my body from this board and appreciate all the honesty, humor, and hope found here.  Seems like there has been a lot of good news lately and it hope it continues to spread.

  • Congratulations on your good news!  Hope to see you there.
  • Listen, obviously this looks like a driveby, however I think that people have lurking syndrome.  They lurk for so long without every posting that they believe they are part of this community, so when they get there BFP they are so happy we gave them all this advice and a BFP came out of it.  She obviously is very knowledged on ways to increase your chance to become PG and followed a lot of the advice that's given from others, so maybe she hasn't contributed in anyway to the forum, however she feels that we all are responsible for her BFP.

How about we all give ourselves a pat on the back for giving tons of people advice and having BFP's come out of it, even if it isn't our own at this exact moment.

Congratulations on your BFP, I hope you have an easy morning sickness-free pregnancy, you might want to actually post on the tri boards and not just lurk, so you have a support system throughout your pregnancy not just advice.  Either way, glad you took the ladies knowledge here to heart.

Thanks for saying this. I rarely post because I am new and am not going to post because I don't know crap and I feel you all are experts. So I lurk a lot and if/when I do get a BFP I feel Iike I would owe a lot to this board for it! If I ever post a BFP it would just be to say thank you which sounds like what she is doing.

I get what you're saying, but if you lurk as much as you say, then you know how your BFP would be perceived. It doesn't really mean a lot to a board of strangers that you gave them information when they don't recognize you. Why not just move on to 1st tri and in your intro you can say "I lurked a lot on TTGP and am thankful for the knowledge earned." Some of us lurk, we'll see it, but it's just not as welcome here. It is what it is.

    Congrats OP.

Good point, sorry I didn't see it that way. I have seen the other BFP ridiculous posts and this just didn't seem like one of them so I felt bad for her. But I will definitely do what you said and just move on to 1st tri when/if my time comes.

  • Congrats to you! I think it's a good lesson for women coming of BCP that you may not really know what's going on with your cycles as well as you think you do, and temping/charting is important. Thanks for sharing your info! H&H 9 months!

  • Thank you so much for all the support and well wishes.  I really appreciate it.  The bleeding resulted in a few blood tests and an early u/s which thankfully seem to indicate all is normal so far.

I learned a lot here and wanted to share to anyone with a +OPK right after a light period..you might want to test.  I had no idea until my clinic RN mentioned they can come up positive when you're pregnant.

I really apologize if my post seemed rude, I had been a lurker here for awhile and learned a lot of information that was helpful to me.  I honestly just wanted to say thanks.  This is my first time using an internet forum and I'm not always that savvy.  It wasn't my intention to be insensitive. Poor form on my part, I guess.  Best wishes to you all.
