Babies on the Brain

Quick question

I am at 2dpo (I believe) waiting for FF to confirm.  The day of o dh and bd'd, the day after I had very faint spotting (I chalked it up to something irritating me) not a big deal but I made note of it.  Today I still have it, we didn't have sex last night so I don't know what is up.  I don't remember ever having spotting right after o and am at loss.  Has this happened to any of you?

FYI- I am not fishing, I am worried something isn't right.

TIA!

Re: Quick question

  • Why do you think you are 2DPO? I don't think you've ovulated.
  • Loading the player...
  • You're obviously a lot more familiar with your cycles than we are.... but I don't see ovulation here.

  • I believe I o'd because I had o pains, increased sex drive, and although I didn't have ewcm I still had fertile cm (plus my calculations of the cm could be slightly off as this is my second month charting), my temp dip (if my temp goes up the next three days FF will give me solid crosshairs two days ago.

  • I'm no expert, but I don't think you've ovulated either.

  • IF, you ovulated it could be ovulation spotting, however I am not so sure that you did.  I don't see a clear enough thermal shift.  What happens if you put the same temp you had today in tomorrows?  If you did O, you should have cross hairs.

    Ditto.

  • I didn't look at your chart, but spotting can occur at any time during your cycle.

And it's SEX not 'bd' - We're adults.

  • Sorry, I don't think you O'd either.

I didn't try that - I put in higher temps and it gave crosshairs

  • Yeah, I'm not convinced you o'd either.

I don't see it on your chart.
  • Temp increase or not, I don't think that you have O'ed either.  Sorry.  Tongue Tied
  • I'm sorry but I don't see an O on either of your charts!
  • I saw that you had the 10/31 temp in and I did not see any cross-hairs.  I went back just to check (thinking maybe it didn't update) and you took 10/31 temp out.
  • Thank you ladies, I guess I will have to wait and see as far as oing is concerned...I did go back and tried different stuff with my chart and as long as my temps get higher than yesterday in the next 3-4 days (even having my temp being the same tomorrow as today) it will give me solid crosshairs 2 days ago, so it is a waiting game either way, which I am okay with.

Also, thank you for taking the time to look at my chart, and answering my spotting question.  It just kind of freaked me out because I don't remember having that happen before so hopefully it will go away soon.

Also sorry about the bd reference, I didn't realize it wasn't a good word to use here - sex it is from now on!

You must have looked at it while I was playing - sorry.  If I put just the 10/31 temp in it doesn't do anything, but if I put the next 3 days(if higher) it gives solid CH, if I put in a temp that is the same as today it will take 4 days (if higher) to put CH 2 days ago...does that make sense?

no, that's not how it works.   You need 3 temps that are higher than the previous six.   Not just 3 higher than a dip.

A dip doesn't mean O.   Lots of my O's were actually on a rise out of a dip (like the day after the dip)

Even if you have a high temp tomorrow, FF will not give you crosshairs for 2 days ago.

I apologize for not being clearer.  If I put in higher temps (than yesterdays temp) for the next three days FF gives me crosshairs two days ago, if I put in a similar temp as todays temp tomorrow - and then three higher temps (than yesterdays temp) FF still gives me crosshairs 2 days ago.  As long as my temp goes up it keeps giving me solid crosshairs 2 days ago...If my temp dips again I realize it changes things...does that make sense?

  • I hate to say it... but I think you're over thinking it.... I had LOTS of fertile CF phases and dips in my first couple cycles off bc. None of them were because of ovulation. I noticed a trend of CF buildup, a little bit of a temp spike , then it would drop again. Just like your charts.... Your body is "trying" to ovulate, it's just not quite there yet. Give it some time and try not to "see" things in your chart that don't exist. I know... it sucks. Good luck hon.

  • Thanks I appreciate it. I also know that because I just started charting last month that I may not be completely accurate in doing so, but I appreciate everyone trying to help!

I don't see how in any scenario it would give you CH's on Tuesday.   There is NO shift after Tuesday.   Temps higher for the next 3 or 4 days would still not meant there is a shift on Tuesday.   If your temp went up after today or tomorrow (let's just say).... then your O would be today or tomorrow.

Look at it this way.  Is Wednesdays temp higher than the 6 before your "O" on tuesday?   Nope.   What about today?  Nope, in fact it's lower than 2 of them.    Not a Temp Shift.

I am not trying to be mean.  Just don't want you to get so set on believe whatever FF may be telling you and listen to what your body is saying.   If you 100% trust FF and cut back on sex, you could miss your window.

Want an example of not trusting FF?   Look at my chart from Oct 07.   FF still swears (red crosshairs - which I took out) that I O'd on CD22.    At the end of my cycle, knowing my 12 day LP and the later shift in temps, I had to override FF and tell it that it was full of BS that cycle.   O was on CD39.

  • I see, I was not aware of that as far as FF is concerned.  Well, I will keep trying to seduce DH tonight then just to be safe.  I appreciate your input!  Big Smile
  • anytime you see blue colored crosshairs on anyone's chart - that mean's they didn't agree with FF and overrode the O date themselves.   (just for your future knowledge)
