NBR - cried for at least an hour

Today I walked out the house to go to work and saw standing water in the driveway.  A water line broke.  I called the City as soon as they opened.  They came out and looked at it.  They turned the water off and said that we had to get it fixed and that the city doesn't fix it.   DH called around to get the best price, it's expensive. We have to max out a credit card and still come up with more money.  This is so hard being this close to my due date and having all this stress......  I was at work and didn't think I was ever going to stop crying.

  • I totally feel your pain!  We just moved and got our first electric bill, it was $1800.  I cried.

  • Wow, what crummy timing for something like that to happen!  How much money is it?  Might you be able to take out an equity line on your house?  It might make more sense than maxing your credit card-- possibly a lower interest rate.  Good luck!
  • Oh, I'm so sorry! Unexpected expenses like that really suck and especially this close to your due date!
  • I know how you feel. My husband owns a computer repair company and yesterday we got slapped with a $100,000 lawsuit by a client he had not seen for a year stating we caused recent data loss. Now while we are insured, and the claim is completely bogus, I DON'T NEED THIS CRAP RIGHT NOW!!!!!
