We pay one of my DD's daycare teachers $15/hr. It's that price no matter time of day but so far we have only gone out once she is asleep for the night.

Thanks ya'll. I was specifying during the day b/c I think day time work is much harder since they have to actually keep the child entertained, fed and changed. IMO, night time sitting is really just an opportunity for the sitter to watch TV and relax since our LO goes to bed at 7 doesn't wake up until the morning. We've never had a sitter put him to bed.
Re: For the 100th time, how much do you pay a sitter?

Hourly sitter? $10 - $15 / hr depending on experience and knowledge.
If this is weekly childcare rates, under 2s seem to go for $200 - $400/wk depending on other factors.
A nanny is more than this. We pay our nanny $9 as part of a share, so she gets $18/hour. We alone pay $450/week, which includes some overtime.
From the nannies I interviewed, I would expect $15 - $18/hour for one child.
