NBR: Does anyone have their nose pierced?

I really wanted to get my nose pierced before I got pg, but never got the chance to. I was thinking about getting it done after having LO, but a girl I work with just gave me all these nose piercing horror stories.

Does anyone on here have their's done? If you remove the nose ring, will you have a noticable scar?

I have a nose stud. There isn't a scar at all, though I rip the thing out often enough if I forget to take it out before hopping in the shower (scrubbing my face or drying it, it gets caught on the shower pouf or towel and yanks it right out, even when I have the cork screw ones in)...ack. But it's super easy to clean and care for, and super easy to change out.

Plus, with it being a stud (so it lays pretty flat against my nose), my DS can't yank on it. Though he does like to poke it now then, lol.

(I'm a panzy when it comes to pain, and tend to pass out easily, so if that's you too, definately go with someone! It's actually doesn't hurt too badly, buuuut, like I said, I'm a wuss, lol)

I got it done in college. I loved it! It was a pain to clean at first, but I got used to it. My only advice is, don't try to change the ring by yourself. That was the reason I had to take it out...I won't go into the gory details, but I tried to change to a different ring myself about 9 months after I got the piercing, and it went very very wrong. lol. I always meant to get it re-done but never got around to it.

I have no scar from the piercing though...you'd never know I had it done.

I've had my nose pierced for about 7 years; I've never taken it out for long periods of time because I've heard it can close up fast. My friend had his pierced and took it out (never put it back in) and he has a small scar/hole where the piercing was. I can tell he had it pierced even though he took it out before I even knew him. So I can say, yes, if you take it out forever there could be a scar/hole permanently.

The pain wasn't too bad. Just depends on who pierces you and how fast they can do it. My eyes watered when I got it done. The clamp they used seem to hurt more then the piercing its self. The area around the piercing will hurt a bit and might be a little swollen for a few days, but it's not too bad. Just clean it as your piercer recommends and it will heal quickly.

I had mine done for quite a while a few months back. Getting the actual piercing done hurt a bit, but mostly it was an eye watering kind of hurt, not anything unbearable.

The biggest problem I had with mine, and the actual reason I took it out for good, was I apparently had a thing for yanking on it in my sleep. On night I pulled it past the elbow part and it left my nose bruised and swollen. I took it out that afternoon and for a while I had a tiny dimple where the hole had been, but it's completely healed up now, no scar, no sign of ever having it done.

I really liked it while I had it, if I could have just left it alone!

I've had mine done for ages. I got it done first when I was 18, had it for a few years then took it out when I got a few more piercings (I have a strict 1 facial piercing at a time rule for myself). I got it re-pierced a few years after when I got tired of the lip ring.

It didn't hurt very much at all, just a little pinch. I wear a little ring in it now, but I used to wear a stud. I've never had any problems with it.

ETA: I had a tiny little scar after I took it out the first time. It looked like a big pore.

Yes, I have my pierced and get compliments on it all the time. I love it! It's super easy to care for and didn't hurt much to get pierced.

I got mine done years ago, I remember the pain, it was crazy! I had to take mine out for an MRI and I waited about 6 hours to put it back in and it had closed up already. I have a little bump of scar tissue, but that is just me, if I have any scar I build a lot of tissue around it. I miss it, but not the accidental pulling on it!
