anyone else confusing LO movement with gas?

I just have to ask. I feel movement going on, but honestly it could very well be gas because I AM ALWAYS GASSY! Ugh. It is so embarrassing!  Our little boy is a mover ( every U/S has demonstrated this) but honestly can't tell the difference right now.  Anyone else the same?

Re: anyone else confusing LO movement with gas?

  • Yep. The only reason why I'm blaming it on baby (and not gas) is because it's in the same area, it feels consistently the same, and it's not followed up by a huge fart later.

  • I finally felt some movement on Sunday night.  At first I thought it was gas but then it progressed to feeling more like hiccups or popcorn popping in my abdomen.

I agree that it finally convinced me it wasn't gas b/c I didn't fart either.  :)

  • LOL! For the longest time, I couldn't tell the difference. Now, I'm getting pretty good at distinguishing between baby girl & my lunch.

  • Oh you will be able to tell for sure soon! Gas doesn't make your whole belly move haha. Also it's weird when they start rolling around.
  • I could't tell the difference for a few weeks. Now i can definitely tell the difference, baby has gotten MUCH stronger- if I ever have gas the feels like this then I have major issues :P

  • No, I knew immediately.  For me, the baby doesn't feel like gas.  I guess the baby kicks me in areas where I don't normally experience gas??  And I am a gassy person too!

  • I used to question if it was gas, but now it is so hard that I know it is kicking.

  • Mine never felt like gas.  I have IBS and I am lactose intolerant so I am pretty in-tune with how my gas feels. lol
