Okay,
So I know who my pediatrician will be, I'm going with the Dr. that my niece and nephew see. He is a great Dr. and I don't feel like I need to search. Do I need to get in touch with him or wait until after the baby is born. If I do need to get in touch with him, what do I actually say when I call. I'm so confused about all of this, as I have no clue what to do. Thanks a million ladies I appreciate any help!
Re: Pediatrician - How does this work?
You can call and schedule a prenatal consultation with them, or at the very least find out when they'll want to see your LO for the first time if they don't have rights at your hospital.
Just call and tell them you are due with your first child in June, and you wanted to see what the process is for newborn new patients. They should be able to tell you how they usually do it!
Just wanted to add.. your pedi DOES NOT have to be there for discharge. Most likely my pedi will NOT have privileges at my hospital because they are about 1/2 hour from the hospital. The pedi on call at the hospital will discharge your baby PROVIDED they see you do have an appointment with a pedi lined up.
