Best Place For Maternity Clothes?

I'm finally going to make the leap and buy some maternity clothes.

Where's your favorite place to buy them?  I don't want to drop a ton of money on something that I'm only going to wear for a few months, but I do want nice, stylish clothes.  I'm thinking of starting at Target and branching out from there to buy anything else I need.  Our local Old Navy doesn't have a maternity dept, but I think we have just about every other chain in town.  TIA!

  • Try Ross Dress if you have one there.  I got a lot of cute things from there at a good price!  I also ordered a few things online from Old Navy.

  • I find great sales online.  I'll only buy maternity on sale.  www.destinationmaternity.com, www.oldnavy.com, www.gap.com, www.anntaylorloft.com.

  • I liked motherhood best.
  • someone posted this a couple days ago and its a great idea.  because Motherhood's return policy is so crappy, consider going to Macy's.  Especially because they have been having a ton of sales lately!
  • Definitely check out Target - that's a good starting point. Do you have Kohl's? They've got maternity too. And also, I plan on going to H&M when it's time to bite the bullet. The bigger stores have a maternity section and they're quite trendy, but inexpensive. Good for those who will be working while pregnant!

  • I like Target, but REALLY love the Secret Belly Panel from Motherhood Maternity.  They are a little expensive, but they are SOOOO comfortable.

  • I like Motherhood maternity- cute and stylish, comparable to Mimi but less expensive.

  • JCPenney doesn't have a lot in my local store, but they do seem to have a large selection online and a lot of stuff on sale.
  • Great.  Thanks for the suggestions!

One more quick question, how do maternity pants sizes run?  I wore size 8 pants pre-pg.  What size would that be in maternity?  Medium?

Macys? for maternity? or just big blouses? my local Macy's doesn't have maternity. boo.

  • This might sound crazy...but ebay is the BEST place. My dad suggested it when I was having a hard time finding smaller sizes that would fit me, so I tried it and got brand new gap maternity pants with tags on, etc. for super cheap. I think the most I paid for a pair of pants was 15 bucks. Just check it out. It's so worth it!

  • Check the consignment stores are in your area, keeping in mind that kids consignment stores often have maternity clothes.  My favorite in our area is "Other Mothers" but I'm not sure how big a chain they are.  Most people only wear maternity clothes once before passing them on, and the consignment stores have much newer, nicer merchandise (sometimes still with the tags!) than the thrift stores I've looked at.

Also, we're coming into garage sale season.  Usually the newspaper carries lots of garage sale ads that list what they're selling.  I would say, find a few in a nice area that say baby and maternity clothes, and see what you find!
