Anyone have tips or tricks for morning/all day sickness?

This morning sickness is following me around all day long. I feel so horrible. Almost every smell and taste makes me feel like I need to run for the bathroom. I was feeling pretty good until a few days ago when the symptom hit me. Since then, every day the symptom just seems to get worse. Today was by far the worst. I have been in bed almost all day or laying on the couch.

Does anyone have any tips or tricks? I have the easy drops and preggy pops. I thought they tasted good until the symptom hit me hard. I tried one after that and it ended with me hugging the toilet. I just want to do my every day routine. My house is messy and it is driving me nuts but I just feel so bad. Ugh please help.

  • I find that little sips of sparkling water help.  Have you tried an acupressure band?

  • I have found that it helps if you never let your stomach get completely empty, and keep it bland. I would keep a bag of Peppridge Farm Goldfish in my car and next to my bed for easy access. I stayed away from red sauces (tomato is very acidic) which would bother my stomach, but loved plain pasta with some butter and a little salt or parmesean cheese. Also, sucking on hard candies does help- though when m/s was worst, having a piece of candy in my mouth that long would make me gag. I am actually looking forward to m/s rearing it's ugly head once again -never thought I'd say that!! HTH

  • I was feeling nauseous for three days straight and then several people on here suggested sea bands...and they truly are a miracle. I felt so much better within an hour.
  • I eat  a few saltine crackers and drink some water as soon as I wake up and that helps for most the day.

  • So far with this pregnancy, I haven't been sick but I'm super early on so I'm sure it's coming...with my last pregnancy I though Ginger Ale helped.  Also, drinking water with lemon and slowly eating saltines in the a.m.  My dr. also had me take vitamin B6 and Unisom which helped tremendously!  I would maybe ask about that.

  • It helped me with pg #1 to never let my stomach get empty.  I kept a bottle of ginger ale and crackers on my nightstand and I had a little bit before I even got out of bed.  I snacked throughout the day on small, bland meals (toast w/ peanut butter, plain bread, granola bars, etc).  I've also heard that peppermint helps some people.  I never tried it, because I can't stand peppermint stuff.  I used Sea Bands, too and they seemed to take the edge off.  Hopefully it'll get better soon!

^^this for the morning.  And then for all day, I eat every 3 hours.  Just never let my stomach get too empty because then it's straight to dryheaving/yarfy central.  So, I keep organic fruit roll-ups, organic gummi bears, and raisins in my purse.  At my desk I have granola bars and cereal bars.  Between all of that, I have been able to find one thing to munch one that doesn't gross me out at that time.

  • Thanks everyone. It is hard to keep my tummy full. Just the thought of food makes me sick. Ick! I nibbled on crackers this morning. It didn't seem to do anything for the morning sickness but at least I got something down. I have never heard of the sea band thing so I think I will try that.

i am right there with you, crackers seem to be the only thing i can keep down.  i've been drinking powerade just to help get some form of nutrition in my body.  i'm hoping this lets up soon so i can get back to eating healthy!
