Long story short, Baby A's water bag broke so now I will be in the hospital until the babies come. This has been one helll of a week!!!
We just had a visit from Deebie Downer the RN nurse from the NICU unit who proceeded to tell us the babies will be in the NICU until their due date and all the things that will/could go wrong.
My poor DH just wants to know what we should do and what is gonna happen and of course no one can give us any answers. All they can tell us is that they will wait until a: I go into active labor on my own or b: that I and/or the babies develop an infection
They had me on magnesium but have taken me off and I get my second steroid shot tonight.
I am just so scared and I just want these babies to be OK. They are super active and passed their biophysical today with perfect 10's, but I still worry!!!
Re: I don't know what else could happen....in L&D
(snicker, snicker: Debbie Downer the RN)
I know you're scared - everyone would be!!!!! You're in a great spot - you've gotten the first steroid dose already, you're already at 33 weeks - You can do this! (Repeat after me: YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!!)
Praying for you and DH and of course, those sweet babies! Don't let Debbie Downer make the negative feelings worse - you're allowed to tell her that you can't hear it right now. We are all sending T&P's and lots of hugs your way.
I'm sorry sweetie you are really being put through the ringer lately. I hope you and your LOs continue to do well. You are in the hospital, the best place for all three of you so just stay positive and ignore that debbie downer nurse.
Lots of T&Ps for you and your family.

It's been a long journey. TTC since 9/06. multiple IUI's and IVF's and 4 m/c's. IVF#3 = BFP, twins, induced at 34w6d due to baby b passing away (no explanation). Delivered on 35w1d, Baby A - baby girl, and Baby B - baby boy, our little angel.

Tell the nurse to stick it and ask for someone else. Those babies are at what 33 weeks!!! YOu will hopefully be just fine. Great job. I am so excited for you. Best of wishes for anything. OH and ask them to keep the magnesium the hell away from you, that stuff is evil, I can not explain what it did to me. It is supposed to prevent seizures for pre eclampsia but its horrible.
If you have internet access you can add me to your email list or look me up on FB if you are on it

Sending lots of T&P your way. I'm sorry you've been having such a tough time lately.
Tell you Debbie Downer RN to eat it. My SIL had twins when she was right at 34 weeks. No steroid shots either. They did spend 2 weeks in the NICU for monitoring and very minimal oxygen support. They are crazy, hyper, fun loving 5 year olds now.
You've done a great job and really have made it through the most critical time.
These little ones are going to be perfect. Nearly 34wks with a steroid shot (or two) is fantastic, and maybe they will hold on a little longer. Put that nasty nurse out of your mind and just focus on the joy of welcoming your babes. Lots of Ts&Ps for you all!
FWIW - I had my boys just over 34 weeks with no steroid shot and all three were in the hospital for just shy of two weeks.
Thinking good thoughts for you and your family. So sorry about your Debbie Downer Nurse. ((hugs))

The good news is that you're already 33 weeks and you've got steroids on board! You're doing great and just try to take it one day at a time...every day makes a big difference.
Lots of ((HUGS)) and T&P's coming your way!
Oh Char - what a horrible time you've had lately.
Seriously Universe - cut Char a break and now...I mean it!
As the other ladies have said - you are in a good place - Your boys are going to be okay. I'll be thinking of you, dh and your boys ((hugs))
You are exactly where I was when I had DD! My water broke with her and when we did the BPP, she scored a big, fat zero. So we did an emergency C-section and she came out crying! We did have to spend 16 days in the NICU, but it was mostly just to get her jaundice under control and get her strong enough to eat on her own.
If you can keep those babies in one more week, you are looking at very minimal, if any NICU time. If you can make it to 36 weeks, you probably won't have any NICU time at all. Feel free to come over to the Preemie board if you have any questions! GL!
It took 5 failed IUIs and a failed IVF, but our FET worked!
