Leaking Poopy Diapers

The past week has been horrible with leaky diapers.  It's just the poopy ones.  We've been using Huggies.  I used a Pampers one on her today, and the same thing happened.  Only it was just once so far.  I've had to throw away onesies cause it leaks that bad.

Anyone else have this problem? She probably ways a little over 10 pounds.  We only started having this problem recently.  Do we have to go up in size? Or should we try to go up in size?

Re: Leaking Poopy Diapers

  • What size is she in now?  A different size may do the trick.  I'd also try more brands - everything fits every kid so differently!

  • She is in a size one.

I only know of Pampers and Huggies.  Are there others?  I've seen store brands (we shop at Weis) but am afraid to try them cause they are "generic".

  • Maybe try to 1-2 in Pampers.  Also, if you have a Target nearby, I love their brand - it's called Up&Up.  I used them a lot when DS was little.

  • We have size twos (someone made us a diaper cake) so maybe I will steal some from that and try it. Thanks :)

  • Not sure about the Pampers but check out your Huggies diapers because we recently had a pack where all of the diapers were defective.  The elastic band that goes around the leg was sealed down to the diaper on the right side so everytime he pooped it leaked on that side.  I called Huggies and they sent 2 coupons for free mega packs as well as several coupons!

  • DD uses Huggies too and you might already do this but I noticed if I don't run my fingers along the edges of the diaper on both sides (like you're pulling out  a wedgie for her) her diaper will leak.

  • DS is in size 1 and we have poo blowouts, too.  Sometimes I think it's just the sheer force of their pushing it out.  He will blowout the sides if he's sitting in my lap or up his back if I have my arm under his butt.  We've had this happen with Pampers and the Costco brand we're using now.
