Why is my LO waking up?

My LO is waking up every night at right around the same time (2:30), can someone please give me some suggestions. I have been getting him and putting him in the bes with us which I know is not good, but I got to get some sleep. When I do this he goes right back to sleep. Any suggestions, should I just try to let him cry it out? I know I should not put him in the bed with us, but it is every night!!!! Help!!

Re: Why is my LO waking up?

  • DD did this for a while.  I brought her into bed with me a time or two and she got really used to it.  It was a hard habit to break.  I had to let her cry it out for a few nights and it was hard, but it worked.  The first few nights are the hardest...then everyone gets used to the new routine.  Good luck!

  • DD did this last night actually she woke up at 12am.  I though maybe she had a really wet diaper or diahrea since she had that the day before.  I went to check and she was fine i tried to lay her back down but she screamed her bloody head off.  So I just picked her up and put her in bed with me and she was fine.  Although she is a pretty crappy sleeper since she is all over the place!!!  not sure why she woke up.  She has done that before a while ago and it went on for like 4 days but I always keep trying to keep her in her bed.  Hope it gets better for you! (and me!)

  • DD was doing this at 11:30 pm almost nightly for a while. Then a friend suggested looking up night terrors, so I did, and it sounds 100% accurate to DD.

Try looking up night terrors on babycenter, see if it matches your child, and read what they suggest.

  • We were doing the exact same thing.  I decided a few weeks ago to try CIO instead.  I let him cry for 10-15min.  If he is still crying, I'll go check on him, since sometimes he does get a poopy diaper at night.  I'll pick him um and rock him for a few minutes, and then put him back in his crib.  He'll usually cry agian, but within 5-10min he's back asleep.  I hated to hear him cry, so now if he wakes, I'll go use the bathroom, and go in after if he's still crying.  Usually he's back asleep by the time I'm washing my hands.  Since we started doing this, he wakes less often, and can usually go back to sleep by himself.  In the last week, I've only had to get him twice.
