BTDT Moms- Help please!

I'm online buying nursing tanks at Target (using my completion coupon- woohoo!) and I want to get one nursing bra. I know that there's no way to tell how big I'll get, but can anyone give me ANY guidance on what size to get? I just want one to have right away, and they're only $12.99 so it's okay if I can't use it forever. What do you recommend ladies?

BTW: If it matters, my boobs haven't really grown much at all during pregnancy- maybe like half a size? They are fuller, but I'm still wearing all my bras. Don't know if that's related to how much I'll grow after giving birth.

Re: BTDT Moms- Help please!

  • I just got mine from target has well and I am a 36B so I ended up getting a 36C for the cup size... There is enough room for growth plus the pad that you will need for the leaking... They fit me fine and I wear them all the time... I hope that kind of helps..

  • There's no way to tell - any reason you can't just do the tanks (which are so much easier in the early weeks when you are nursing constantly!) for a couple of weeks?

FWIW, I was a 34A pre-pregnancy and was probably a full B/small C for the first couple of months of nursing.  I just wore tanks for the longest time; by the time I got nursing bras (around 6 months or so), I was in a B cup.

  • This sizing guide totally helped me out...check out the FAQ section too!

I suppose not, I know the tanks are great but I just thought I might want to have a bra to wear... but I guess I probably won't care too much right? :) It can wait!

My boobs are GIGANTIC. They have their own zip code. Prepreggo and worse now. So I couldn't survive without a bra simply because I'd be uncomfortable.

But if you can get away with just the tanks until you know for sure, I second that option, definietly.

  • I'm not a BTDT mom but I bought a maternity/nursing bra over the weekend from Target that I really like. It's Basics by Bravado and is called the Stella (according to the tag). It was $24 but it was comfy (stretchy & soft) and has room for 'growth' (the girls haven't grown a centimeter since my BFP). It looks liek this one, but I can't find it online:
    https://www.target.com/Bravado-Seamless-Nursing-Bra-Assorted/dp/B001B5NP9Q/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&searchView=grid5&keywords=nursing%20bra&fromGsearch=true&sr=1-2&qid=1300498521&rh=target_com_brand-bin%3ABravado&searchRank=target104545&node=1038576%7C1287991011&searchSize=150&sessionID=175-9372272-1790350&searchPage=1&searchNodeID=1038576%7C1287991011&searchBinNameList=subjectbin%2Cprice%2Ctarget_com_primary_color-bin%2Ctarget_com_size-bin%2Ctarget_com_brand-bin&frombrowse=0

Edit: I forgot to add, this brand name comes in small, medium, or large which I find better than buying an actual size. I bought the small (I'm a 32B - on a good day) and it has good room for growth (ha!) and nursing pads.

  • Not sure if Target has any online, but a lot of companies have sleep bras or sport-type bras that come in sizes S/M/L- that's what I would suggest if you really want to make sure you have a bra before baby's arrival.

  • I am nursing and presently engorged. ugh. Once the engorgement subsides my 36D nursing bra should be just perfect, right now my cups spilleth over! I would go with one cup size bigger than what you were pre pregnancy.

  • For $12.99 I would buy one just to have on hand.  I would go up one size.  The first few days when your milk comes in, it's like getting an instant boob job, a bad one! Huge and round.

I just wore tank tops (regular or nursing) around the house, but I personally didn't always feel comfortable out in public without a bra on.  So it was nice to have one on hand.  I had a regular type bra, and then a sleep bra.   This time around I just bought some from Motherhood Maternity they had a sale, buy 3 get 1 free, so I bought two regular and two that were sort of a cross between regular and sports bras.

  • I would say go with something that has a size like s/m/L and not an actual cup size.  My last pregnancy my boobs didn't change until my milk came in.  I went from a DDD to a G!  This pregnancy my boobs HAVE grown, I'm scared to see what my nursing size will be!  Buy something that will give you room to grow, because there's no way to tell for sure!

  • I went up a cup size. I think I know the bra you are talking about and if I'm right they are really stretchy so you should be good with a cup size. I lived in them day and night time even more than the tanks, although the tank was good too.
