Ok, so I am new to temping, meaning this is day 2! So day 1 my temp was 98.3 today 97.9?.I am on CD4, is this normal to vary so much one day apart? I am not paranoid that I have a defective basal thermometer.

Re: Question about temps
It's not unheard of for your temp to slowly drop at the beginning of your cycle. The hormone that made it high during your LP could still be leaving your system. Definitely too early to tell if your BBT is defective (and there are other possible explanations to troubleshoot - mouth breathing for example - before discounting the thermometer). Good luck!
ETA: Sorry, I thought you said "now paranoid" but you actually said "not paranoid." Oh well, what I said still holds true
Yes, this can be normal. Temping is really all about figuring out what is normal for you. Congrats on starting to temp and if I could offer any advice it would be to just take your temp each morning and put it in your chart and don't think too much about the chart as a whole for this entire first month.
The thing about temping is that you really have to be able to see the big picture especially in the beginning. You will drive yourself crazy and probably get turned off to temping if you are analyzing each temperature through the whole month.
I'm new to this too, and I have been going nuts trying to interpret my chart. You just can't do it until you're pretty much through the whole cycle. Especially for the first few months. Good luck to you!
Unexplained secondary infertility...bleh. Gave it a few more tries and BFP on 3/31
