September 2011 Moms

This is ridiculous, but... (tmi toilet etiquette)

I am worried about future BMI's ladies... My belly is really starting to grow and I know I will not be able to sit on the toilet and lean over much longer. How on earth am I supposed to go #2 sitting straight up with a belly in front of me?!!? No leverage for getting the job done, so uncomfortable, I won't even linger longer than necessary to read apps on my iphone... What's a girl to do?! How does that even work?! LOL This is the kind of stuff I think about these days...

  • Lean back..it works haha. Rock back and forth if you have to. I can't believe I just typed that. I'm a poop prude. Embarrassed

  • I have always leaned forward but I find sometimes leaning back against the back of the toilet (at home only) works well too but it takes a little more.  Also rocking back and forth tends to help make things move.

  • See, now who would have thought to do that? Thanks ladies. Sorry for the embarassing question.

  • Get a step stool that really helps.

HA! Toilet time is my app time too. I usually try to sit super tall and it is more effective for me than bending over (plus I am petrified of "pushing" and getting hemmys). When I am having a little difficulty I do twists to the left and right. I feel like it squeeeeeezes everything out without pushing. That movement wouldn't be hindered by da belly.

  • If it makes you feel any better, the amount of pressure that you will feel just from the baby is enough to help you out when needed.  Trust me, you'll be okay!

  • Got to love you September ladies.... where else can you talk about poop and get recommendations on the best method to get it all out?

  • You should be fine by the time your belly is that big, everything is just pushed down by the baby, as long as you aren't constipated! My third tri poops were some of the best I've ever had.

  • I think about these types of things so it's super reassuring to know that I'm not the only one. :)

  • I feel like I missed some kind of special class on how to properly and effectively make a good bowel movement. LOL Thank you ladies! I oddly enough am looking forward to trying things out! Have a great Saturday!

  • After yesterday's experience...I seriously know why pregnant ladies have constipation issues.  I was doing the rocking back and forth method, holding on to the rail on the side of the wall....ANYTHING to go.  Constipation = prepping a woman for child birth.  I keep thinking in my head, "get it out, get it out".  Ugh...I have NEVER had these issues before.  Thanks for adding the best "moves" get the bowels moving.  :)
  • Is it wrong that reading this topic makes me think of some of the nurses from the "One Born Every Minute" show where they were doing the cheer where they said "Push it out...push it out...WAAAAAY OUT!"  haha!
