We're getting the Snugride also. The Chicco was designed by the same person as the Snugride. The Snugride is a little cheaper and I found the smaller models (excluding the Snugride 35) to be less bulky and slightly lighter, which is a concern for me.
I was also swayed to the Snugride because the Chicco doesn't fit in the top part of a shopping cart. My husband travels a lot, so I will be on my own with the baby for most of the time. The convenience of being to put the carseat in the shopping cart is a big deal to me.
another odd one out, we're getting the peg perego primo viaggio.
Us too. It's a hand-me-down from my BFF/nearly sister. Her daughter was born in August, so it's less than a year old.
We already have one of our two convertible seats - Britax Boulevard 70. The car seat tech suggested using this in DH's car instead of the infant seat due to his car not having LATCH and mine does. We'll get the infant insert to make sure LO fits properly. If we have to wait a while, then we'll just drive my car when we are all together instead of his.

Tater Tot arrived 6/21/11 on his Great Grandmother's 90th Birthday
Chicco KeyFit 30 - I had originally picked Romantic but got bored with the fact that it was just silver and black so I changed to Fuego - the red one. It matches my car!!

I got the Snugride basic model...up to 22 lbs. I'm expecting my baby to be big, my hubby was 11 lbs! So I don't want to waste money on something that he'll only be in for a few months.
Not so odd anymore I got this one too. Its the only only one with a bumper to protect the carseat from ramming into the car's back seat. I also got the B-ready stroller to grow with my family.
Re: What carseat are you going with?
Yep, us too.
Me too!
Ditto.
Us too.
I will be the odd one out....

Chicco Keyfit for the infant
Britax Boulevard for the convertible
