how many diapers do i need?

I jsut ordered 12 of the OS diapers from bumgenius. How many did everyone esle order?

    Did you try posting this on the Cloth Diapering forum? The ladies over there are really helpful! If you're going to CD full time, you will probably need quite a bit more.

    I talked with my mom about how many to get, since she cloth diapered all 4 of us kids. Of course, that was between 20 and 30 years ago, but the frequencies of changes obviously wouldn't be different. I have stocked up 3 dozen prefolds in NB and S sizes (combined) and a few small covers, but I will probably get a couple more covers. For later on, I have 3 Flip cover (going to have about 8 covers total) and about 30 (?) inserts.

    I'm registering for 24 OS fuzzibuns but I'm buying a BG today online to see if I want some of those too.

    MH cousin CDs and she told me 24 is a real good amount so you don't have to do diaper laundry every day.

    I will have between 24-30 newborn diapers, plus some more prefolds, in case I'm running behind on laundry.  I plan to have 24ish one-size diapers.  Just make sure to have something planned for the newborn stage.  The Bumgenius One-size are way too big for a tiny newborn - despite their claim to be "one-size".  Hope that helps!

    I would get a few fitted/ or nb sized diapers the OS don't always fit right when they fresh. 

    DD has about 17 diapers. 3 FuzziBunz(1 OS 2 Fitted), 3 Minky OS, 2 AIO BumGenius fitted, 2 gDiapers(fitted), 4 OS some off brand from ebay, 2 GroVia OS and 1 AIO GroVia. 

    We plan to get more gDiapers and GroVia in nb and a few in other sizes and more then likely some more BumGenius. I want to get the stash up to at least 40 to before baby arrives. So I have enough to cover both kids and not have to wash every day.

    In the newborn stage you will want more, but once LO is bigger, 12 actually is a good number. We exclusively CD our DD and have 14 BGs. We do diaper laundry every other day.
