Orchid or Rosemary

I am having two showers thrown for me and for hostess gifts I ordered some handmade initial stamped necklaces

 for the hostesses who are in their 20's but for the older two hostesses I thought they might like something different. Maybe a pretty potted orchid or rosemary for the kitchen? I love orchids and I love to cook so I would be happy with either. WDYT?

    Pardon my ignorance, but aren't orchids kind of high maintenance? I would go with the rosemary, practical and practically no work!

    Hmmm that is a good point and definitely not one I thought of! My Dad has a crazy green thumb and always has orchids, but when he gives them to me, I usually just keep them until the blooms fall off and then get rid of them because I don't want to mess with them in their "off season" :( I am a terrible plant owner!
